So much tv to watch this New Year my eyes are popping out of their sockets with pure enjoyment. That may have made the staff at Specsavers a bit freaked out the other day. Yes I've had to have new specs and no it was not due to watching too much tv over the holidays, apparently it's my age. Cheeky monkey's, should have gone to Specsavers to be told I'm getting on in years, well it seems I did.
I'm not having a go, I'm getting mature but rather like a fine wine, maturing nicely and happy with it. Bring on those varifocals lets see if I can read close up and watch telly at the same time, that will be fun. So we were treated to a reunion between the new doctor and the daleks in Doctor Who. I wonder if before they said exterminate they actually said 'a female doctor, the universe has made big changes whilst we have been resting'. It was good though wasn't it? Great storyline and oh heck I did think Ryan's dad was going to take a dramatic entrance from the Tardis but no phew, he was saved from plummeting into the depths of a super nova glued to a dalek squid. I'm going to miss it now and it seems so long until we see it again but hey we'll wait. Luther returned for another series and blimey what a good one it was. Now I'm not going to go into it too much because I know there are a few people who may have been away over the holiday period and I don't want to spoil it but I loved it. It was it's normal scary and gory self and I actually find myself hiding behind the sofa watching this more than Doctor Who. What is the world coming to when a bloke in a light up mask is more frightening than a dalek? Well one thing is for sure I am not taking a night bus or selling anything on ebay pretty soon. I did get on a bus the other day, in pure daylight, but I couldn't help looking towards the back of the bus, just in case. I do not know what the police would do down there in London without so many derelict buildings. Can you imagine if all buildings were finished and there were no buildings to be completed at all, where would Luther go to have his bust ups with his criminals? The contractors must start to have a clause in their contracts to say 'we will build here but if I get one whiff of Luther around I'm out'. A great series and very tense, action packed complete with a few surprises in there so do have a watch if you like full on drama. I'm so glad it was on four consecutive nights as I don't think I could of waiting a week in between episodes. Well done BBC and all involved....absolutely loved it! I watched Billy Connolly in his new series Made in Scotland and he is just such a lovely man. It was brilliant to see him on the telly again talking about the past and reminiscing on his early years. Oh there were some cracking moments, performances and gags that are just complete classics. I love this man and he has always been an inspiration. You come away from seeing Billy not only aching with laughing but he gives you a good sense of seeing the good in people and appreciating life. I particularly loved the part when he was talking about giving up drinking and now he just drinks tea. He loves tea!!! He says it's the best substance and all he needs. He is my Make a Brew hero - Billy from the Brew, sounds good eh? Jeremy Clarkson returned with a new series of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and it's the last in the series tonight. This has been continuing all this week and there have been a different selection of contestants. Now I know I'm at home in the comfort of my living room curled up on the sofa with no pressure at all but I do find myself shouting at the tv a bit (sorry tv nothing personal). The first lady that got through on the very first programme was excellent. I think it's a combination of good knowledge but also casting those little doubts aside and taking a risk. I couldn't do it by all means but I just got frustrated by the contestants who seemed to eat up all their lifelines in one go especially when they've asked the audience and come up with quite a high percentage. I'm like 'what did you do that for?' Then there was a question that the audience did get wrong so I suppose it does pay to be cautious especially when there is a bit of cash involved. I know what you're thinking my brewsters.....well you do it Sue from the Brew! Ermm nope, I would probably slip up before I got to the one thousand pound mark. I do enjoy it and glad it's back even in special chunk size pieces. Still think Jezza is good presenting it so well done ITV and good luck to the last contestant tonight. If you are a Netflix fan then you will have sen a lot of fuss about a new film called Bird Box starring Sandra Bullock. This is a brilliant film and if you watch some of the slightly stranger offerings on Netflix then this will grab you. It's a post apocalyptic thriller and follows the character played by Sandra Bullock trying to get to safety, away from a supernatural force which if looked at seems to drive everyone to suicide. It's not for the faint hearted but it is a great thriller so do give it a watch if you are a fan of these kind of dramas. Some have said they've enjoyed it, some not at all so it has come under mixed views and opinions but I always say make your own mind up. I've enjoyed a restful holiday eating too much chocolate and binge watching a few programmes but back to reality now. I hope you have enjoyed your own Christmas and New Year viewing too. I will be back tomorrow for Music Monday so until then..... Take care.

So did you get your bumper issue of your favourite TV magazine? Mmm a lot of repeated stuff but there were some gems in there which I watched. Thank goodness for catch up I say, I've kind of pigged out on chocolate and then nodded off in true Christmas comfort style. So I had to go and watch things again to catch up.
Did you watch Click and Collect? If not why not? This was funny and tense with a bit of an 'ahhh' moment. Andrew has to go on a mission to get the last Sparklehoof Unicorn Princess toy available. This is his daughters main toy that she has wished for from Santa and after a failed attempt to get it before he now has to travel up to Carlisle for it. Dev his annoying next door neighbour has reserved it for him and has to accompany him on this long journey on Christmas Eve. Of course they get into a few sticky situations and Dev turns out to be a blooming great bloke - We love you Dev!!! It stars Stephen Merchant and Asim Chaudhry and I thought it was just a nice entertaining comedy to kick of Christmas. You can catch up on the old iplayer so tune in to see whether the unicorn makes it under neath the tree in time. Call The Midwife gave us that Christmas Day warm feeling didn't it? If you don't come away with a massive feeling of love and compassion after watching Call The Midwife then you have no heart. You also have to have cried just a little bit, even just one little tear. It was a great episode some faces made a return some looked as though they were going but woah.. thank goodness they stayed. The cardigan got me crying......Barbara who we lost last time, well her cardy got passed on and that was a simple but moving moment. Every time I saw Barbara's name tag appear I blubbed. Yes babies were born, children were loved and cared for and it was just an hour of totally greatness. I watched the Torvill and Dean drama and quite enjoyed learning of their story. It followed the couple from the early days, how they started out skating and how they eventually became paired up to compete together. They stormed through all the major competitions which then led to the 1994 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo. The big performance of their life and this programme finished with that original footage of them performing their Bolero routine. It's amazing every time I watch it, I was just as excited watching it here as I was when it happened back in the day. What an amazing achievement and one which has never been repeated to this day. A nice little watch if your interested and I thought the actors told the story very well. I think the best thing on tv this Christmas though was Agatha Christie's ABC Murders. Some branded it boring but I thought it was brilliant. I love John Malkovich and thought he was perfect in this role, refreshing even. I was gripped with the whole thing and always knew that there would be a twist somewhere, well it is classic Christie. Rupert Grint was excellent as Crome the detective in charge of the case and there were so many more great names from the acting world too which just made this a spectacular drama. It was easily viewed as a three part drama, nice easy chunks which you could follow at ease. Overall a fabulous offering from the BBC, well done. If you didn't see it then go an catch up and let me know what you thought. Phew thats quite a bit of watching....I did also watch a comedy style programme on Sky One called The Queen and I. This was written by Sue Townsend (of Adrian Mole fame) and followed the Royal Family being deprived of their status and them having to go and live as normal citizens. Big names in this such as David Walliams, Samantha Bond, Julia Mckenzie and Johnny Vegas. It's a light watch and quite amusing, not to be taken too seriously but I found it funny. You are watching something where you have to think 'oh that would be really weird if it happened' some probably think it should happen. I'm not a great royalist but I didn't think I wanted this to happen in reality it just wouldn't seem right. Gets you thinking though. Well that's me done for now and this year in fact. I will be back in the New Year so I will take this opportunity to wish all you happy viewers and brewers and Happy New Year. In the meantime I will be back tomorrow for Music Monday so join me then. Take care for now. It is that funny time again when a lot of good tv has finished and it's all change with the telly routine. There seemed to be a gap this week as we ease into the Christmas viewing. I saw some cooking going on, we all need to be reminded how to cook a Christmas dinner. Quiz's are popular as well this time of the year as well as pantomime type programmes, and then there is Mariah Carey if you get a bit lost for something to watch.
I caught up on a drama which I wasn't sure whether to watch or not. It was Death and Nightingales. It starred Jamie Dornan as Liam Ward who only got naked once with no ropes involved although he did catch the eye of lovely Beth Winters while pulling a cow out of a ditch, that's romance in the 1800's. It was a story set in 1885 in the Irish countryside of Fermanagh and told a deep tale of love, deception and revenge. Beth plans to escape her present life and run off leaving her stepfather to start a new life with her new love. I was totally gripped by this story and although a bit slow at times it did have me hooked. It was one of those really classic deep period drama's so if you are looking for light entertainment and a happy ever after you better give this a miss. The only thing is that the ending was kind of abrupt and left me a bit surprised. I was expecting a bit more to be honest but then the credits rolled and I felt a bit cheated. I'm probably sulking as I didn't get the end I wanted but then I didn't write the book so I can't moan too much. It is only in three parts so I only felt as if I'd wasted three hours but those three hours where quite drawn out and probably felt like the longest three hours ever only to be cut off at the end. The acting is great I do have to say and I did enjoy the plot but I always feel a bit disappointed when I imagine a different ending, it really felt as if they had run out of cash while filming and said 'right that's it, that will have to do'. Anyway you have a watch and see what you think, I have spoke to some people who share my views but I would be interested in any other views. If you didn't watch last weeks Michael McIntyre's Big Show then you have to watch it especially the Midnight Gameshow feature with Gino D'Acampo as it was so funny. I'm not sure how much of this is made up and scripted as it seems to be the same bedroom every time so it's probably all a bit false but it gave me a few giggles. Even when pretending Gino is such a delight to watch. I quite like Michael's show but I feel I go along with it all a bit, I mean text to all doesn't seem real and I can't believe they get a person to perform that well at the end of the show in that small amount of time so it is one of those magic show scenarios isn't it? You know it isn't real but you follow it through anyway. Blimey I sound as though I may have talked my way out of that show but I do end up watching it. I did tune in to watch Jamie Oliver who showed me how to cook a festive meal with only five ingredients. I watched his other series with the same theme but this one had all lovely Christmas delights and included his advice on the old turkey. Nice and easy Jamie that's what I like, I felt as though I could do all that but lost my enthusiasm slightly and it made me all hungry. There are now not many chocolates left in the tin.....well a girls got to eat and I have no turkey in. I enjoyed how he got his kids involved in the cooking and one of them didn't moan when he gave them the washing up. He looked at his dad as if to say 'yeah dad, when we are not on the telly it all goes in the dishwasher'. They all look as though they know what they are doing in the kitchen though, I feel some young people may be going to follow in their dads footsteps maybe? Oh the tv needs a bit of cooking and pantomime 'oh no it doesn't.....oh yes it does' (see what I did there)? I think I need to make my exit by stage right and tell you I will return tomorrow with Music Monday but for now you take care. Are we all happy with the result on Strictly again this year? I was well chuffed for Stacey and Kevin and so glad it comes down to the public vote. They would have come in fourth place if it had been down to the judges. I think the judges knew that the public would vote for either Stacey or Joe and allowed Ashley and Faye their moment.
Some say that that one or two of the judges didn't look pleased with the result but hey it's our choice at the end of the day. Yes the pros can give heir top scores and critique which in the final becomes a little bit predictable but at the end of the day it's who wins over the people on their sofa's. I don't know anything about rise and fall and whether their feet are going in the right direction as I'm not looking down there. I like to see someone come from being a total novice, never danced before and becoming a dancer darling! Just like Stacey and Joe. We can go on forever about how professional Ashley and Faye are at dancing but they may not have been totally brushed up on ballroom in the beginning. They do deserve some credit as they both danced phenomenally. It was a great series with some great contestants but I would like Anton to have a chance of winning next year so can the BBC sort that one please? Apparently Joe and his partner Dianne are dating, they sported his and hers red hair on final night awwww. He did honour his bet that if he got into the final he would dye his hair the same colour as Dianne's and it looked ok. Good luck to them, I hope they are happy together. So that's it for another year. I am going to miss it and my celebrity jungle antics, Doctor Who has finished as well......oh dear what are we going to all watch now? There is plenty of Christmas TV coming up. Yippee! But first before all that we saw the end of The Apprentice tonight with swimwear designer Sian Gabbidon winning the chance to partner up with Lord Sugar. I thought he would go with Camilla's nutty milk but no, what do I know. He must see a market in high priced designer swimwear, I suppose someone is wearing it. I always watch it and can never quite believe where they get some of the contestants. Do they really have business's or does this programme purposely make them look a bit daft. I think the latter if it's to make entertainment eh? Well that's me done watching the tv for another week. I will be back tomorrow for Music Monday but for now you take care. What a series and a great final of I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here and congratulations to the King of the Jungle Harry Redknapp. I'm so glad he won, he has been such a great entertainer all the way through and he just got stuck in to all of his trials. A truly nice guy and so brave too. I really felt for him on his last bush tucker trial and wondered whether Holly or Dec would tell him there were rats in there with him. I'm sure he could see himself but he had such a fear of them I think they thought it best not to say it out loud.
They all did so well and all the celebs seem to gel really well, a good selection by ITV this year. It certainly kept me hooked, I watched every night and haven't done that with this particular programme for ages. It doesn't necessarily need drama and falling out to make good viewing, I think people enjoyed seeing a bit of harmony and less bitching here. I loved Emily and so glad she came in as runner up. A lot of people tending to criticise her for her screaming but I'd love to see someone of those people moaning about her try doing what she had to do without a screech or a squeal. So easy when your sitting on your sofa eh? As Emily said she may have screamed but she got the job done which I think was fair enough and good for her. I think the jungle would have been a very boring place without her, John and Fleur. They really brought the camp to light with their entertainment and they were the three that raised the morale in there. I laughed and cried especially when their close relatives joined them a couple of nights ago. Oh I was a blubbering mess, crying like a baby but that was so nice to see. I loved so many bits but tonight was funny when Emily had finished her final trial and off loaded the critters everywhere and Holly practically jumped on Dec's back to escape them, so funny. I think Holly has been a great addition this year. So well done ITV and to all the celebrities, yo can all get yourself outta there!! Doctor Who took it's bow on series eleven tonight also and what a great series it's been. We've welcomed a female Doctor and I think she's just become part of the furniture now, the big piece of furniture that I end up hiding behind if it's scary. There has been a good mix of stories and I've loved it. What I can't believe is that there will be no Doctor Who on Christmas Day, there will be one on News Years Day but we've always had the Doctor on Christmas Day....mmm not happy. I'm also not very happy that I have to wait until 2020 for series twelve. I think it's a gamble by the BBC, people may lose interest. I know it takes a lot of time to film and the actors schedules are booked up but there are so many dramas that seem to get their next series out a lot quicker. A year is fair enough but eighteen months? We'll probably still be here especially us true fans but can't speak for the others. Will it lose it's ratings? We'll have to see. Well I'm off to get some kip now after all this excitement. Not sure what I'm going to watch at 9pm every night now. I'm sure I'll find something and I'm sure I'll be telling you about it. Please do come back tomorrow for Music Monday but for now........... You're a Make a Brew Sue blog reader.......get yourself out of here!!! Last week saw the start of the new drama Mrs Wilson. This is based on true events which follow the life of Alison Wilson who uncovers many secrets about her husband after his death. Wife's keep popping up all over the place and Alison feels she has got to get to the bottom of this mysterious life her husbands seems to have living, unknown to her.
Alison Wilson is played by her granddaughter Ruth Wilson whom you may recognise from dramas such as The Affair and Luther. I watched her being interviewed by Graham Norton where she discussed the awkwardness of watching this with her father. She said how she felt a little embarrassed that in the series she would actually being filming scenes where she would be giving birth to her own father so that's a slightly different thing to talk about around the dinner table eh? I think she's great though in this and who else could tell the tale, she is perfect for it especially with that inside knowledge of her own family. It has three parts and the second part airs this Tuesday on BBC1 at 9pm. You can catch up on the BBC iplayer. It is definitely worth a watch. Malique was the second celebrity to leave the jungle tonight after Noel Edmonds also got kicked off. I feel Noel was a loss really, I found him really entertaining so I was sorry to see him go. I don't really like seeing anyone go in this series as they are all really lovely and I think they have bonded well. Malique and Noel did well in their trials, really brave so they can be very proud of themselves. Who will be next? Poor John Barryman has had a fall and a trip to the hospital but I believe his is ok and due to return so that will be good. I wonder if he has a song for when he comes back in, might not feel up to it but I struggle to think that anything would keep that man down. I think Holly has really settled in to that presenters job, I'm actually loving her and Dec together, bit of a refreshing change. Maybe it will have to be Ant, Dec and Holly next year. I do like a laugh and this gives me quite a few every evening. Great series. Oh my blood was boiling a little at Strictly tonight. The public obviously want Ashley out and the judges are keeping her in. Anyone who comes up against her and Pasha in the dance off now will be going until it gets to a public vote. She is great but she is a professional dancer which the public are protesting about now. Not sure why they bother even having a dance off as it's going to be so predictable. The judges can't let them go because they are good dancers so it's a stale mate situation really and won't be solved until the final. The other thing with Strictly that drives me mad is the fact that they need a change of presenter. I never liked watching Strictly before and I think I've worked out why. Tess, for me is a bit over the top. I know she teamed well with Brucey and yes I think they did work well together but please BBC next series can we have a change? Right that' me needing a brew to calm down. I will be back for Music Monday tomorrow so until then you all take care. I was sure I wasn't going to that bothered about I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here this year but I'm loving it. I'm actually staying awake at 9pm as well to watch it which is not like me as that's my prime 'nodding off' time.
I think they have a brilliant mix of celebrities here and they all seem to be getting on as well. I have mentioned Anne Hegerty in my post yesterday on Autism Support Saturday but I'm also just loving the banter between Noel Edmonds and Harry Redknapp, they are so funny together and who would have thought that? I certainly didn't, they so need their own show. Harry is just entertaining anyway by himself with his stories, I could listen to him all day and I think he is bringing a lot of laughter to the rest of the camp. I really thought he would be a bit of a grump and not enter into it all but blimey he really has given it 100% so far. The bush tucker trial he did with Noel last night was awesome, I really thought he would bottle it but it stormed it. Proves how much I knew about him before. It was so funny how Noel and Harry kept making each other laugh last night as they tried to keep all those critters in their mouths, I was expecting to see a mega big beetle go flying across my screen as they got more and more hysterical. Good coping strategy though or maybe they are just silly all the time, hope so. I think, at the moment Harry could win this or John Barrowman is another favourite of mine but it could all change. I'm surprised by Emily Atack as well, she's really given it her all. I bow down to her for coping with those snakes.....what a brave girl. It's quite amusing following her mum, Kate Robbins on Twitter. She must be so worried about her but they seem tough cookie gals so I think Emily will do great.....love her. I really appreciate Kate's tweets on Twitter somedays as she is so funny and she lifts my spirits on those crappy days so thanks to you both for cheering me up. I'm going to keep watching as I am clearly obsessed, I wonder who will go first......oh don't want anyone to but we'll see. My prediction for tonights Strictly would be.......oh difficult but it could be Graeme Swann tonight although it wasn't looking good for Lauren Steadman either. I loved Lauren's performance though, I enjoy watching her and AJ as I think they are really well matched together. I'm still on Team Stacey as she's just brilliant and she's just got such a bubbly personality, the whole Strictly experience seems to means so much to her. Ok well we will see what happens and I am off now to get some tea then settle with my youngest son for a bit of Doctor Who time.....one of my favourite times of the week. I will be back tomorrow for Music Monday but for now you all take care. Well Series 4 in the bag at last. I've been waiting for this series of Line Of Duty to become available on Netflix, only because I just kept holding off from paying for it. I missed it when it was on tv and have been toying with the idea for ages of whether to just buy the box set on Amazon but no I held out and this weekend while flicking through for something to watch I clocked eyes on it.
I wasn't disappointed either, it was absolutely brilliant and think I may have stopped breathing for a few seconds at the end. That Thandie Newton, I thought she was such a lovely lass, I did actually feel sorry for her in the end. She was awful....she just kept dragging everyone down, getting lots of innocent people arrested, even her own husband!! Oh I was shouting at my ipad like mad. Bad bad woman!! Things always go against AC-12 don't they? I think, oh that's it there in trouble now but then no way they can't be.....no way, I'm not having it!!! I've gone through a massive mix of emotions during my binge watch, feel like I've been on a huge big rollercoaster trying to work it all out but phew, no I didn't expect some things here. If you have never seen Line Of Duty you need to as it's brilliant. I think it's one of the best thing on tv and apparently they are filming series 5 yaaaaaayyy!!!. It is available on Netflix so go now and watch it. If you have seen the latest series, did you love it as much as I did? Dark Heart came to a conclusion and it was fantastic, definitely left open for another series there me thinks. We need to be knowing all about Will's parents now eh? I also want to see Jules get well again and out of hospital. It has been a great series though and gripping cases for him to solve, please go and watch it if you haven't so that they will commission another series. So many loose ends I need tying up, that's not a bad thing it just has a nice cliffhanger for it to continue. Tom Riley gets his top off and he's very buff.....there ya go people.....ya welcome! I'm going to seek out the new celebs going into the jungle later on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here. There seems to be a good selection and I actually know most of them. I can't quite believe Harry Redknapp is going in so he might be worth a watch. Still watching Strictly? Yes I am too, getting a bit fed up of the contestants who are already pro dancers such as Ashley Roberts and Faye Tozer, of course they are going to get great scores, they have a mountain of experience, for me I don't think they should be there if they are professionals already. The public always seem to pick up on this and I don't see either of them winning because the others who have never danced before will take centre stage. My favs? I'm Team Stacey or Joe Sugg, I think they have made huge progress from the beginning. So who's leaving? I think it will be Kate Silverton or Graeme Swann this week. I'm hoping Charles Venn goes through as he did amazing and received a great score so please don't put him in the dance off!! Not sure he could take it again. We'll see anyway. Good luck everyone. I hope you've enjoyed your tv this week, let me know what you are watching. I'm off to watch Doctor Who as I'm obsessed.....woosh off to the Tardis. Join me again tomorrow as I will be back with Music Monday. Take care for now. So Bro from the Brew got in touch with me and said 'hey sis are you watching Dark Heart?' To which I said no, wrong answer as apparently I should have been watching it as it is really good. Now Bro from the Brew knows a thing or two so I thought I'd better catch up with this amazing programme.
Well I'm glad I did and he was right it is flippin awesome. If you are a bit squeamish and not in favour of a bit of gore then this isn't going to be for you because there are scenes that are a bit yucky. It airs on Wednesday and Thursday evenings and every week has a new story, unfortunately though it concludes this coming week so you have some catching up to do if you haven't seen it. Just have a binge watch when you've got a spare few hours but obviously not when you've just eaten. It's all about DI Will Wagstaffe who has to investigate a murder or two but meanwhile he is haunted by his past. His parents were brutally murdered when he was a child and the case remains unsolved. He also has a sister he cares about who's boyfriend he doesn't like but he has a nephew he does love to bits and family life gets a bit complicated here. The storylines are fantastic and the writer has really come up with some great twisty cases so don't go thinking it's just another police drama as it really isn't boring at all. If you watch the first two episodes and think to yourself something has changed about the whole thing by the time you get to the third episode well this is because the first two were released two years ago as a pilot. You may have already seen it and it may ring some bells. In episode three it tends to jump forward slightly and he has a different team around him as well as having a slightly older nephew than in the previous episodes so bear that in mind. Overall blooming fabulous and totally worth a watch, I'm just gutted that it will be coming to an end and I need more!!! You need ITV Wednesday and Thursday at 9pm or catch up on the ITV Hub. I do love the odd chat show at the moment, my favs are Graham Norton's and Jonathan Ross so do catch up with those from last week if you didn't see them. Graham Norton had Michael Buble, Taron Egerton, Carey Mulligan and Sir Ian McKellen who was so funny, I loved him. Jonathan Ross had a Spice Girls Special so just in case you have been on a different planet this week the girls are getting back together for a quick tour. They have a chat about that and the fact they will be without Victoria (no loss there in my opinion) and generally just have a bit of a girly squabble about some stuff. I was a bit worried that after this interview it could be all over by the end of next week but I think it's all girl power banter. I love The Spice Girls and frankly love seeing them back together, they are genuinely friends still anyway and for whatever reason they are touring again it doesn't matter does it? As Mel B says on the show the money will come in handy for her lawyers bills - at least she's honest. I think they are entertaining even without singing but it was interesting to see them get a bit nervous when asked to give an impromptu sing song. Bless maybe they need a bit more practice. Mind you I would probably freak out if someone asked me to randomly sing......hang on though I'm not a Spice Girl, hey I could be though if they need a stand in for Posh Spice......I can pout! Kylie was on the show too as well as the very funny John Bishop. I got a bit emotional when he spoke about his son 'coming out as gay', he was just lovely how he spoke about him and I thought to my myself 'what a top bloke'. One person I was surprised about was tennis player Novac Djokovic. I haven't really seen him do any interviews so I didn't know a lot about him but he was very interesting a really nice chap. You see that's what I love about a chat show, the fact that you can come away learning something new about someone and usually be pleasantly surprised. Anyway I'm going on so I'll stop there for this week. I could frankly just go on about the telly all week but we need a change of subject. I won't even get on the subject of the wrong person going off Strictly and I won't say who it was in case you haven't seen it yet......but no sorry wrong choice! Look see I've even turned into a dancing expert - NOT! Just my opinion. You take care of yourselves and I will be back for Music Monday funnily enough tomorrow which is Monday. Bye for now..... I cannot believe another Great British Bake Off has come to an end, I do have to say congratulations to Rahul on his win. Were we all happy with Paul and Prue's choice? I was, in fact I liked all the finalists and any one of them deserved to win but apart from a couple of wobbly's Rahul remained the most consistent.
It was a great series and I particularly liked the shock feature of not using the oven, no cooking at the benches and having to go outside and cook, what a surprise. I think I would have panicked slightly if I had to go and cook my pitta bread outside and with added dips. The British public were shocked and disillusioned by it all as well with people tweeting that they were 'going outside', (cue some dramatic music). They survived though although I do love how some charred bits had to be scraped off the odd pitta, I do that after cooking them in a conventional oven. I wasn't too impressed by the showstoppers, they didn't stop the show for me at all. They all looked a bit dreary and dismal. I like something stunning, like a magnificent cake with thirty layers of sponge and loads of icing that looks proper posh but hey maybe that's me asking for too much. Maybe Atlantis and a rock garden are suitable for the final, who ya kidding Paul and Prue......I don't need to tell you your jobs but come on demand more!!! It was a great series I really enjoyed it and what a lovely choice of contestants. I don't even miss Mary, Mel and Sue at all....sorry girls I am fond of you but we do get to see you on other shows so all is not lost. What else happened this week? Oh Strangers came to it's conclusion didn't it? That was good, I have enjoyed that. I think they could have wrapped it all up last week but it did have a good twist at the end. I am trying to get to grips with The Little Drummer Girl. It is one of those dramas that you need to concentrate on in case you miss something. I did enjoy the first one and I think I know what is happening but I need to catch up now with the second one. I was watching it but there was too much going off so I thought I would leave it until I get some quiet time. Oh that makes me chuckle slightly......quiet time??? What is that exactly? I have heard it's when everything around you falls silent, you have achieved all your chores and one can sit down with a brew and chill......oh did I mention brew? Right I'm off for one now and try and explore this quiet time. Wish me luck! Thank you so much for reading, you may go and make a brew too but join me again tomorrow for Music Monday........ Take care for now. |
