I was born and bred in Derby and live as a single parent with my two boys. My eldest son was diagnosed with Autism in 2004. Life can be a struggle, stressful, sometimes amusing but I hope my posts on 'Autism Support Saturday' bring a smile to your face. This is just our life with Autism, yours maybe completely different.
I am also a regular member of Rock Choir which I love and is my therapy for life. It's a lot of fun and great to be a part of, something I do for myself.....my 'ME TIME'
I have an intolerance to wheat/gluten so have been on a Gluten Free diet for a while now. It has made a massive improvement as I was feeling quite poorly with a lot of headaches, tiredness, and general stomach problems but since altering my diet it has made a massive improvement. I do however have to remember that I can't stray from it as it does have quite an impact if I do eat the wrong food now. It is a learning curve but something I am getting used to.
So why Make a Brew? Firstly I love tea, I have drank it like a fish since being very young. A brew, whether it be tea, a coffee or a beer is what usually accompanies a great conversation. It may be a sad one, a deep one or a belly laugh moment but we always tend to have a cuppa, sit down relax, read a newspaper, book or have a chat so my blog is basically based around that idea Have a browse and read about my life's little adventures.
I like to think I have a good sense of humour and like to try and make people laugh so this blog is meant to be a positive uplifting place, I know! life is full of ups and downs but I just want to make people happy so that's my aim. I love to write and would like to progress more with my writing in some way. My posts are not going to win any literacy prizes as I tend to stray from the rules of grammar and write how I would talk to you but that's just me and my style.
Anyway that's a bit about me and why I am here.......please get in touch if there is anything that just bugs you about life or you want me to write about, I always appreciate any feedback or ideas for future posts. You can get in touch on my contact page here or any of my social media which is on my home page or at the foot of this page.
Take care and Thank you so much for reading.
Changes from May 2020.......
Being in Lockdown and having some time to my myself and the family has made me want to write poems. Nothing serious just light hearted little verses which enter my head about life. So from now on my posts will be a poem. Thursday (A Verse for Thursday) was always my favourite day for writing this blog so Thursday will now become 'A Thought for Thursday', a random poem with no particular theme. I may not write every day but will try and write as much as possible. The old posts will stay up for you to read in the archives.
Thanks for bearing with me..........happy reading.
