I'm always looking for new things to eat which is gluten free and saw this puff pastry in Sainsbury's. This is so good as it is all ready to roll and you just pop your own filling in.
I thought I would make these pizza rolls which turned out absolutely gorgeous. They would go with a salad or chips (both maybe) or just a quick snack. I get so envious of pastries and and sausage rolls if I pass the local Greggs and want something similar, so now I can have my own little Greggs but made me and not Gregg. All I did was unroll the pastry spread some tomato puree onto it, top with ham and cheese and roll it up into a big sausage. I then cut into 4 smaller rolls, popped them in the oven at 200 degrees for about 25-30mins. The one thing I did miss off is an egg wash over the top which I will remember to do next time. There will be a next time as I'm definitely going to buy some more and maybe do some sweet dessert pastry parcels. You could really fill it with anything and make all sorts of different shapes, even make your own sausage rolls. I'm impressed and may make some lovely pastries for the kids, just to make meal times a bit more fun. When rolled out this pastry is approx 23 x 35cm (280g), provides at least 5 portions and cost £2 from Sainsbury's. Give it a go and see what you think. I know you can buy pastry parcels already done and ready to bung in the oven but what's the fun in that? Just think, gluten free yummy puds with a bit of custard or cream over.....yummmmmeeeeeeeeee. Made ya hungry now haven't I? Made myself hungry too....off to eat another pizza parcel - see ya! Thanks for reading today, please feel free to come back tomorrow for Autism Support Saturday. Take care for now......
