I'm having a great debate with my son, no we are not talking Brexit we are talking about this blog and this post. He asked me whether I was writing my blog and I said yes but I was working on my poem for tomorrow and I announced that I wasn't going to write one for What to Buy Wednesday.
Well he was horrified, how could I not write a blog post when I have written one every day for the last two years? My answer is that I haven't bought anything and I have no ideas of what to advise you to buy on this Wednesday. Yes it's the first time in two years but I just felt like I couldn't offer anything. Now I was quite chilled and ok about not writing a post and it didn't bother me, I could live with the fact that life gets a bit busy and we all have to have a bit of time out. I then felt guilty though and a bit uncertain after my sons remarks. He was right, why should I give up on this mega conquest of writing every day? So here it is a blog post about writing a post of what to buy when I haven't bought anything....good eh? These are my feeling todays about a bit of a writers block I suppose. I was bound to have one at some point, I must have had one before and I will probably have one again. The thing is I'm only human and just like everyone else.....busy, but not too busy for a brew so I'm gonna boil that kettle and go and find something on Amazon to buy. Thank you for reading today, I will be back tomorrow with my Verse for Thursday and I can guarantee that as I have written the poem, and it is already scheduled so I am now ahead of myself. Brilliant!!! Take care now.

Now as I am a single gal living by myself, well part from two teenage boys I do feel the need to have some tools in the house. Well I may have to do some important DIY or I might just have to look as though I’m willing to do some DIY.
I have got a collection of screwdrivers even one of those electric screwdrivers which I have used and found a bit fun and other tool type things that I often Google just to see what they are. I say Google but it’s usually a quite text to Dad from the Brew to say ‘Dad what is this and what can I destroy or make things worse by using it?’ He will then tell me he needs a closer look and decides whatever it is he needs one for himself. I then went to Aldi and clocked this little tool bag complete with some tools inside and get this... it’s pink and black.....pink for me a girly DIY’er, ok I suppose boys like pink too, lets not take over the pink thing in a sexist way Sue from the Brew. It gets even better though regarding the pink subject as the tools inside have pink handles. Oh I’m so much in builders heaven now I need to go and see if Nick Knowles and the gang need help on DIY SOS. I feel I may turn out to be the SOS though, Nick shaking his head saying ‘Sue Oh Sue’. So this nifty little girly, yes girly tool bag is going into work with me as I have no tools there and someone is bound to ask if I have a pair of pliers or a hammer in pink. The day will come you’ll see. I love that it comes with a long strap so that I can carry it over my shoulder, so fashionable!! You all know what I’m like for a bag, it’s the first one I have bought in ages and you can’t say it won’t be useful. I am waiting in anticipation until someone comes and asks for a screwdriver and I have to tell them to wait while I have a look, ‘oh yes I have but it’s pink.....is that ok?’ Pink tools will get the job done, who wants boring old basic tools with no colour....not me that’s for sure. I purchased this tool bag from Aldi, on the middle aisle, yes I only went in for milk! It cost just £19.99 which I didn’t think was too bad for saying what you get for that and I feel safer that I can fix it just like Wendy....Bob the Builder's boss. Thanks for reading today, please join me tomorrow for my Verse for Thursday but for now..... Take care and .....can we fix it? Yes we bloomin well can (in pink). This is just a great idea and the best hot water bottle ever!! It was only last weekend that I posted a photo of my traditional hot water bottle which I was using to keep me warm in my shop. As it's florist shop I can't warm it up too much because of the flowers and it is something we get used to, working in the cold but just lately it's been a tad more chilly than expected.
So I was popping my hot water bottle into my layers of jacket and coats which worked fine but it would just fall out at the wrong time and leave with an explanation as to why I had suddenly given birth to a hot water bottle on the shop floor. It also made me look like the Michelin Man as well, not that I didn't already with my layers but I was looking slightly more built up shall we say. Then came a little miracle which was revealed in our local newspaper the Derby Telegraph, they had this article on a body bottle. This is a long hot water bottle which can be wrapped around and tied around the waist. How funny was that? The answer to my prayers, not that I had got to the stage of praying for this but you know what I mean.....the solution to my dilemma. It was available from Argos so that was it, I ordered it online and boom was down to my local store to pick it up. Not only would it be a good source of warmth for me while at work, it would be a great relief to my lower back pain. I thought it was a bit pricey at first at £24.99 but then I realised I was probably going to save money in buying those heat patches which I stick on to help with my back pain so in the long run a saving. It only takes a kettle of water to fill and you have six hours of glorious heat around your body. You can wear it anywhere that you feel it helps, even around the shoulders and neck area so very versatile. I love it and I just can't get over how I was only just thinking how to keep warm using a hotty bottle and this popped up.....it's as if someone is keeping their eye on me. This little baby comes in two colours, grey and a grey polka dot pattern so you do have a choice and the cover is machine washable. All good eh? Brilliant therapy if you have any tummy cramps or pain as you can wear it around your waist and carry on with your busy life. I mean look at this lady in the photo, she looks so happy with hers, it can only be a good thing. Give it a go and let me know how you go on. Thank you for reading today, come back again tomorrow for my Verse for Thursday but for now, take care.
What a title to a post, don't you get clogged up me lovelies - save the drains!!! Well you can with these very trendy silicone star sink filters. In four different colours too so you can could have them all over the house.
Better than the metal jobbies eh? Some people prefer the metal ones that fit in the plughole I suppose as it looks more refined but if you like a bit of fun then these are good. I actually bought these for my shop as the little ends I cut of my stems tended to block my sink so I need to trap them. I did go for the metal one originally and although it does fit in the plughole it tends to pop out if I pour anything into the sink. These little babies are a lot better though, because they are silicone the little bits stick to it too so there's less chance of escapage. They don't tend to effect the flow of water and they also work with really hot water too so no issues so far. The only issue was which colour to use really but then I could use a different colour every day if I wanted and just rotate them. Not really I'm not going that far but I can recommend them if you do need to trap any bits and pieces. I suppose they would be really good for the bathroom if you have long hair that tends to block the plughole. They remind me of that starfish in Finding Nemo, the one in the tank at the dentist but that's probably just me watching too many Disney films with my son. I might just draw a face on mine for a laugh. You can purchase these wonders from Amazon and I will pop a link (affiliated) at the end of this post so go and order them straight away. Thank you for reading today, I will be back tomorrow with my Verse for Thursday but for now, take care everyone! |
