A New Busy Folder

I do love a new folder and a bit of stationery. I used to work in sales and I sold a lot of stationery. You would not believe how much I remember about paper sizes, envelopes, I can even remember product codes from the catalogue we used to order from. That's quite sad eh? Or I may have loved my job a bit too much.

I've always liked a pencil, pen or a notebook. Mum from the Brew would say I'd always prefer a notepad and a pen opposed to a bag of sweets when I was little. Well they certainly last longer, sweets just go too quick and are bad for your teeth......notebooks are so much more useful.

I love this new portfolio I purchased from Amazon. I am thinking of using it for my floristry work. With the punched pockets which are supplied with the folder, it means I could have a few photos of work I've previously done before, price lists and general info. I could use the lined paper to write out information for a client and there's even a little calcuator to work out and prices. There are plenty of pockets and you could easily get an iPad in there too if need be.

It zips up to keep everything secure and there is a handle on the spine for carrying it around. Great eh? It's so handy as I can keep everything together instead of everything loose all over the place and then I can pick it up and pop off to see someone and show them what I can do.

I will pop a link (affiliated) at the end of this post for Amazon. I bought it for £15.50 and it's really sturdy and very good quality so looks good value for the money. The lined paper refill pad can be replaced when used or you could change it for something of your own choice. I'm really impressed and can't wait to start using it. I'm off to start filling it up.......

Thank you for reading today.....please join me again for one of my Verses for a Thursday but for now you take care.

The Really Useful Box

You may have seen some posts which I have written about my son bringing all his dvd's downstairs to show me and explaining every single episode over and over again. He is on the Autistic Spectrum and Thomas and Friends is his special interest so hence the reason for the continuous displaying of all his dvd's and I say ALL.....there are now 78 of them so you can imagine when he brought them all downstairs it was quite a chore.

Just to make it clear, yes I could go up to him and see them but it doesn't have the same effect, he has to bring them to me. He did make some comment about me not moving from the sofa but I don't know what he meant by that.

So to make life easier for my gorgeous. son I bought these brilliant boxes for him to carry all his dvd's and they have been so useful. Funny I should say that as they are actually called The Really Useful Box and even funnier that they have Thomas and Friends dvd's in as he is known as the Really Useful Engine by The Fat Controller.

So Sue from the Brew where did you get these ooba super boxes from? Well of course I got them from Amazon where I get most things from as we needed them quick. I wasn't prepared to take the chance of these precious dvd's taking one more tumble down the stairs or my son risking himself an injury when carrying them so boom they came within a couple of days. One of them did arrive damaged but we got it replaced with no bother.

They have a 22 litre capacity and hold 50 dvd's, they are sturdy with click shut handles at each end. You could store them quite easily under a bed or unit, they stack on top of each other and I like that they are see through so you can easily identify the contents. Brilliant eh?

If you would like the measurements, they are:
External dimensions: L820mm x W255mm x D155mm
Internal dimensions: L750mm x W210mm x D140mm

You could pop anything in these such as cleaning equipment, craft items, DIY equipment or you could actually store wrapping paper in them. You know, after Christmas when you have got all those rolls left over as you've overbought because you do think you are really Santa's little helper. Well now you can store them till next year, just make a note where you have put the box otherwise you'll be buying even more. That's ok though because you'll suddenly remember you have a nifty box to add to.

Whatever you use them for they are a great size and just as it says on the box 'really useful'

Below is the link (affiliated) for these boxes at Amazon.......Thanks for reading today please join me again to have a read of my Verse for Thursday but for now.......

Take care.

Heads up for a great shower repair!

Now I have to tell you that this little gadget just made my day. After my youngest 'teen from the brew' had showered one evening he very casually announced that the ‘thing that holds the shower up’ had broken. I answered what thing? I jumped up to go and have a look.

This was in the middle of Who Wants To Be a Millionaire and it was starting to get exciting but something made me think there is a domestic emergency and frankly the £32,000 question will just have to wait. Yes when I had inspected the damage it was true the plastic bit holding the shower head had broken beyond repair.

Panic began to rise as now I had to think that some DIY was on the horizon and I’m not great at DIY. The whole attachment would have to come off and I’d need to put a new one back on.....nightmare!!  How was I going to do that? More realistically where can I find someone to do that?

I actually looked through You Tube videos on how to replace a shower head attachment and so wanted to do the job myself and then I had a light bulb moment. There just has to be something on the shelf at Amazon surely and there it was like a little shimmering light of greatness....a shower head holder that just simply screws onto the rail. This meant no DIY for me or any poor sod I was about nominate. No nails, screwdrivers.... nothing. Ordered it and bish bosh it would be here in a day or so.

We all only had to put up with one shower while holding the shower head, no hardship really but I can’t be doing with it not being hands free. When the new attachment came I ripped open the bag, checked the instructions just in case it was going to be more complicated than it looked. It went on so easily, just popped it around the rail and screwed it on tight.

So easy! I was so pleased and it’s still there today doing a magnificent job. I am sharing this as I really didn’t know you could get one so if it happens and your head falls off, you can just get help to screw it back on again.

I will leave a link (affiliated) to Amazon at the end of this post just in case you find yourself in the same predicament.

Thanks for reading today, please come back tomorrow for my Verse for Thursday but for now.......take care.

A good thriller of a book....

This is quite a good thriller. It's a bit spooky and scary, leads you down the garden path a bit but yes I was quite impressed. Jane stumbles on a perfect rental opportunity at 1 Folgate Street. This is a modern, state of the art house designed by architect Edward Monkton but it comes with a very lengthy contract with lots of rules.

This book resembles Gone Girl, The Girl on the Train and 50 Shades of Grey. Yes Edward is a bit of a controlling landlord with a past and he seems to get to Jane who is the tennant 'now' and Emma the Tennant 'then'. It alternates between the two stories of both women and after Emma mysteriously dies Jane goes on a mission to find out what really happened to her.

It is a book with mystery, suspense, and a bit of sex in there too. I know......it made me blush. It is a good foundation to the story though as through all their erratic behaviour you start to piece together what might have happened. I kind of guessed the end but I wasn't too disappointed. It was a tense page turner for me although I did get a bit confused which of the women's account I was reading about. The chapters are quite short so you have to stay with 'who's who'.

It is worth a read.......I wanted to keep picking it up to see what was going to happen and that's a good sign for me. The end for me was a bit flat but I'm not going to go into that as I don't want to spoil it. Let me know what you think thought if you have read it.

You can buy 'The Girl Before' from Amazon here:

It is also available in most supermarkets too. I know Tesco have an offer of 2 books for £7 at the moment so pick a copy up with your shopping.

Thanks for reading today......come back tomorrow for my Verse for Thursday.

Take care.

Bags, bags and more bags.....

Bear with me I have bought new bags! I say bags as I bought two, well it was a kind of two for one deal....see got a bargain too.

These are really good shopping bags and a fair size too. I tested one out today and got a good load of Tesco stock in it. It has a nice plastic lining inside too so you could use it for a cool bag armed with your freezer packs. Maybe you're thinking of a picnic or planning a festival this year well this would be ideal and look stylish too.

For £10 I got a nice spotty bag and a plain blue one and they really are strong bags with good handles, and that is necessary when carrying loads of shopping or carting around loads of chocolate which I seem to do just lately. Sssshhhh!!!!

I think in my very professional opinion of bags that they would also be good for carrying folders and work stuff around so multi purpose goings on here....I’m impressed.

I purchased these two beauties from Wyevale Garden Centre (Cotton Traders section) and for the local Derby folk that means Findern Garden Centre, Burton Road, Findern. Derby. DE65 6BE.

or you can find them online here at:
www.cottontraders.com/accessories/all-accessories/bags-and-wallets/

Phew feel so much better for feeding my bag addiction......I reckon I may have enough to set up a small shop.......what get rid of them??? Yikes!!! I may have to make some room but lets not be too hasty yet.

Thank you for reading, come back tomorrow for my fresh new Verse for Thursday.....until then.....

Take care.
