I'm a big Kylie fan, she is just so lovely and I have just loved everything she's done yes including her time in the Australian soap Neighbours and even through the Stock Aitken and Waterman stage. How could you not? She could could probably just sing the alphabet with style.

She makes a comeback with a track you can't help singing and tapping your foot to or in this new offering, something to get you 'Dancing'. Yes that's what her new single is called.....see what I did there?

What I think happens with some musicians is when they get a little lost in what to do next or need inspiration they pop off to Nashville. I'm glad as I think I would if I was a fantabulous muso. It would probably the first place I'd go as I'm a bit partial to country music. My brother introduced me to this genre years ago and I do love it. I'm no expert on it but I just think it's music that fills the soul with a bit of ooomph! Not a country term or a musical one by any case but I think it's a good describing word.

Dancing by Kylie includes a country twang along with a pop disco feel which is very clever, well she keeps her classic Kylie sound but introduces a country element which says to me ' yes I can do that too'. Damn well you can and it works. Some don't like this mix and the hard core country fans will ask why?? Why not?? I believe if you love music then you have every reason to experiment with different sounds and genres. How does a musician know if they don't colour outside the lines or step out of their comfort zone, I think we all need to do that sometimes.

Besides when you're Kylie Minogue you can do what you like, she's earnt that status and I will be downloading it and looking forward to the forthcoming album 'Golden'. The new single is being played a lot on BBC Radio at present so you would have had to have been on the moon not to have heard it yet. Have a listen anyway and see what you think. Bet it gets you 'Dancing'.....ok I'll stop now.

Thanks for reading today, please pop back again tomorrow for Teapot Tuesday but for now........

Take care.
