I have written a post before on Wedding 'first dance' Songs but with Valentines Day coming up usually 'your song' starts here during the courting process, way before the posh frocks, smart suits and too much champagne.
So what will we be setting the atmosphere with this Wednesday? A bit of Barry White or the Bee Gees? Are we staying current with Ed Sheeran? You can't go wrong really with Ed or Adele, they are winners aren't they? There are so many to choose from but it will be a song that reminds you of a special date or the time you actually met. A few classics to consider: Adele - 'Make You Feel My Love' Ed Sheeran - 'Thinking Out Loud' Tom Odell - 'Grow Old With Me' Hot Chocolate - 'It Started With A Kiss' Bread - 'Make It With You' Paolo Nutini - 'Last Request' Percy Sledge - 'When A Man Loves A Woman' Bon Jovi - 'Always' John Legend - 'All of Me' Bruno Mars - 'Just The Way You Are' Oh I could go on, your special song may not be a classic love song, it may just be a random song that holds those memories. I'm sure whichever tune you choose it will be played along with a romantic meal and roses sitting on the mantelpiece. Yeah in an ideal world. Some of us will probably forget, some think it's all a load of commercial garbage but most of us may push the boat out to a takeaway and tell each other they love each other before nodding off in front of the tv. One song I do love at the moment and I must admit I didn't like it at first but it really has grown on me massively is 'Paper Planes' by Hoseah Partsch. This guy is only 18 years old, from New Zealand and was a runner up in The Voice Australia. I think it's an amazing song and so catchy, I'm sure it will be a favourite for years to come. I heard Hoseah being interviewing by Chris Evans on Radio 2 last week and he is just a lovely guy. He pays tribute to his mum who brought him up and his three other siblings, in fact they got his mum on the phone and she was so proud of him. Ahhhhh it was one of those mascara warning shows, so heartwarming. The lyrics are amazing and with a line like ' your love will be my lullaby' and more like it, it will send hearts a fluttering me thinks. I've gone all slushy now......what's that all about? I thought all the romance had gone from me but that's it you see, you can be single and still fall in love - even if it's just with a song. Thank you for reading today.....have a love filled Valentines Day and stop, take a moment, put that tune on that you love and have a little dance. Spare the time - we get so busy these days we forget to just stop and 'love' sometimes. Listen to Sue from the Brew!!! Come back again tomorrow for Teapot Tuesday' but for now...... Take care xx
