Sting and Shaggy? Yes that's right...

Well there is a collaboration that comes around now and again that just seems strange at first but then I end up thinking......yeah that's ok. I would never have put these two together in a million years. I wonder who approached who, I'm sure they have declared that in interviews but oh I just have this vision of Sting inviting Shaggy to do a bit of Yoga and saying 'Hey Shaggy fancy making a record?'

I love it......the pairing, the single......and they even got to sing at the Queen's Birthday bash. 'Don't Make Me Wait' includes a nice soft typical Sting like vocal with a Caribbean twist and then an infusion of Shaggy's deep deep tones. I would love this mans voice, it kinda makes me giggle because it goes to places I didn't think a voice could go to. I don't mean in a frisky sexy way but in a vocal way.

I felt the Queen might have been thinking 'Oh tuck ya shirt in Shaggy, do you know who I am?' I think though she may have been just a bit taken by Sting, he looks so good doesn't he? So fit at 66 years old, he doesn't change. I remember The Police days and although I can't call myself a huge fan I do admire his music very much. He's an icon and a legend and  is just another of those who has created a soundtrack to my life.

I bet you didn't know Shaggy's real name is Orville Richard Burrell and I didn't know he was a US Marine. Apart from a Military career he has also had a very successful music career too with familiar classics like 'Oh Carolina', 'Boombastic', 'Angel' and 'It Wasn't Me'. We all remember those don't we? They are Shaggy classics. He's been very busy since that first hit in 1993 and now in 2018 has entered into one of the biggest collaborations in a while with Sting.

Some don't like the two together but I do and I'm giving this single a ten out of ten. It's well and truly in my head and I turn it up when it's on the radio, heck I've even downloaded it so that's how much I like it. They will divide the nation I'm sure. The Marmite couple......you'll either love em' or hate em'.

Let me know what you think, are you a fan or should they go their separate ways? Give it time they may grow on you.

Thank you for reading today, join me again tomorrow for Teapot Tuesday but for now take care.
