My New Little Trimmer

27/5/2020

Picture
I bought these nifty cordless shears
no it's not for my hair so tuck away your fears
It's for the grass and hedges outside
I can give them a trim then look with pride

A bargain buy from Aldi online
I've been using them and they are absolutely fine
Not too expensive around the twenty pound mark I'd say
I think for what I got it was not a bad price to pay

You have to bend down and trim the grass that's the only snag
but apart from that it's in the bag
The charge lasts a while so you can get on with the chore
It gets kinda exciting and you want to use it more

So if you need to trim things and keep them neat
this is a product you just can't beat
I must admit it's made gardening a little fun
ten out of ten, five stars job done!

Burning Love

I bought a wood burning machine to do some fancy art
I wasn't very sure about it at the very start
I thought I was bound to start a fire with this
but using it is complete bliss

It's so relaxing drawing with a hot pen
playing around with designs over and over again
I'm not the best at it by any means
but with a bit of practice I may create some nice scenes

I thought my smoke alarm would love me using this
but to be honest it's cooking fish fingers the alarm seems to miss
So for those who like to be creative and love to craft
I can recommend this machine I have photographed

The Amazon Addict

I thought I was bad when it came to ordering online
some stuff I really needed so that was all fine
But my mum she takes it really serious
It's become something kind of delirious

She sometimes orders a little too much
a mountain of parcels she can't wait to touch
She isn't even on Amazon Prime
but they seem to arrive in next to no time

Mum has enough in her house to run a small store
Amazon are waiting by her own special shelves to order some more
She never panics buys that's one thing my mum won't do
There wasn't loads of toilets rolls stacked up in her loo

I think it's the easy ordering and direct delivery to her door
which she loves about this particular online store
I guess when we all order we order in stages
but Amazon are relying on my mum to pay their wages

We are all guilty of over ordering too
some may say it's an easy thing to do
Maybe you need flour, shampoo or a wok
but just check with my mum first to see if she has it in stock

A Brand New Plug

6/5/2020

I received a brand new plug today
it was to replace an old one which had worn away
The old one, it let the water run free
just flowing through the pipes and out to the sea

It's been like that for the last decade or so
the water level always running too low
So I decided it was time, and to Amazon I tapped
a shiny new plug was posted overnight while I napped

It arrived along with it's family in all different sizes
I felt it was best in case a problem arises
I mean you never know when you'll need a plug
or should Amazon have detected how many sinks I have
'I shrug'

It works like a treat, I tested it well
I just filled up the sink and watched the volume of water swell
It stayed where it was, no escaping at all
Best remember in future otherwise we'll have a flippin' waterfall

A great little iPad case

I needed a new bluetooth keyboard for my iPad as my other one which I had for absolutely years had given up. So I found this nifty one on Amazon. You just clip your iPad into the bracket and it turns it into a little notebook.

It closes up completely so you can pop it in your bag or case and away you go. It's all ready to do that all important work on or studying and keeps it safe too. I love it, it's so handy to just take to work and do a bit of work there if need be and the keyboard is so nice to use.

Some keyboards are not very comfortable to use. I don't know about you but I'm a bit fussy about it being nice to type on, well this one is really good. It is also so easy to connect via bluetooth and is supplied with a charging cable.

You can un hinge your iPad to use on it's own so no bother there and then when your ready for a big typing job just clip it back in again. Brilliant eh? It is priced at £19.99 which I thought was really good value.

I'm so happy, it's like having an iPad and notebook/laptop all in one with detachable screen. Just don't do what I've just done now. I am using my normal laptop and gone to use the touch screen and guess what? Nothing happened....ha ha silly me. That's just flipping from using one to the other, but it just made me laugh.

It is good to laugh at yourself when making silly mistakes, I do it all the time especially with technology, it's either that or get the death stare from a teenager in the house. You know the one where it says 'what are you doing Mum?' Ha ha I'm trying to be a plonker that's what son!!!

You have to be so on the ball these days don't you? I do try. I hope you like this useful information and if you want to know anything else about this keyboard just ask. Here is the info from Amazon, it is for the iPad Air 2 but if you search around you can find different cases for the model you have.

Getting creative with acrylic paints

17/4/2019

I'm getting creative again and so I decided to buy some acrylic paints and brushes because I never have the right paintbrushes. I have a lot of terracotta plant pots which I have acquired and thought that I would spruce them up with a little decoration.

I am still experimenting with how to paint them as the pots are very porous so  the right paint has to be used or the designs won't last. I have been following some videos on You Tube, like ya do and I hope I will come up with something nice.

So acrylic paints are the best paints to use for my pots and I saw this little collection on Amazon. It has a lovely selection of colours and they are so easy to use. Having proper brushes really helps too. You may have acrylics already if you have been painting stones so you will already know how good they work. Up to now I have just used the acrylic pens for the stones and may still use them here for this project but the paint is good for larger surfaces.

I like the raw look of a hand painted plant pot, there is something about it, a rustic feel and they can look so colourful on a patio or in the house. I am going to paint the pots and then get some nice plants in them to sell in the shop.

The box comes with 18x 59ml paint pots for £22.97 and the brushes came in packet of 12 for £12.99 so I'm all set up. You don't have to use very much paint at all so don't be put off by the small bottles. I have made the mistake already of pouring far too much out so only use a small amount at first, you always keeping adding more as you go.

Well I'll keep you posted with how I go and what I manage to create. For now though you take care and join me again tomorrow for my Verse for Thursday.

A new addition

What's that I hear you say? Were you saying that I haven't bought a new handbag in a while? Well you know what they say about an addiction, they never really go away but we can learn how to control them.

Alright so I was in a controlling mood to stop and I haven't treated myself in quite a long time really. So here she is, Sarah is another addition from the Mia Tui family of bags. It is one of the work bag range and that's funny because that's what I'm using it for.

It has room inside for a 13.5" laptop and for lots of work related stuff. It has the classic bottle holder and comes with a free clutch bag too. The front pocket has pen holders and phone pockets and an added clip for your keys. There is a smaller pocket on the back of the bag, big enough to put a phone or a small purse in there. It is very roomy, the straps are long enough for you too wear it on the shoulder but it does come with an added longer strap to use.

Further details on Sarah including a nice little video which shows it in action (always important I think) can be found here:
miatui.com/collections/work-bags/products/sarah-laptop-bag

She really is very useful and what I like about it as a work bag is that you can keep everything neat and find everything easily as well. Great eh? I'm not feeling bad, the joy when it was delivered felt very nice and it will probably be my last for a while now (ha ha famous last words).

If you haven't tried a Mia Tui bag then you need to as they really are very good quality bags. You can build up loyalty points if you're a bit of a fan like me which come in useful for a little bit of discount to use on your next purchase. They have a wide range so you can usually find one you are looking for. Go on give them a try.

Thank you for reading today, I will return tomorrow with a Verse for Thursday but for now - take care.

A must buy if you love your Baileys

Oh my oh my if you haven’t tasted these little babies then you need to. That is of course if you are a Baileys fan, if not then you need to just walk past these in the supermarket and ignore this post completely.

I am a fan of the alcoholic liqueur which is called Baileys and could not pass by these chocolates at all if my life had depended on it. In fact if the Morrison’s store I was in at the time was burning down I would have still grabbed these on the way out. I am looking for an excuse to go back and buy more, I know, can you believe it? I only bought one pack.

They are little milk chocolate balls filled with a Baileys flavoured soft gooey centre. Is your mouth watering yet? Mine is and I’ve eaten a whole pack. I did put this photo on my Facebook timeline with the words ‘I was only going to have one’, yeah right, in which lifetime was that?

They are little balls so I figure that is ok and I will not feel guilty for consuming a bag full. The thing is I bought them, I ate them and they made me happy and that is what life is all about. Chocolate Mini Delights - see it’s true, says on the packet - MINI!!!

It is nearly Easter and while the supermarket spaces seem to be filled with Easter eggs of all possible chocolate combinations I am just going to have a couple for bags of these and that’s it, my Easter treats done.

These are available from all major supermarkets and I believe in Home Bargains too.

What are your favourite chocolates? I do have many other favourites being a chocoholic but these are my current top favs. Go on try them!!

Thank you for reading today, I will be back tomorrow with another Verse for Thursday but for now.....

Take care.

The great debate

I'm having a great debate with my son, no we are not talking Brexit we are talking about this blog and this post. He asked me whether I was writing my blog and I said yes but I was working on my poem for tomorrow and I announced that I wasn't going to write one for What to Buy Wednesday.

Well he was horrified, how could I not write a blog post when I have written one every day for the last two years? My answer is that I haven't bought anything and I have no ideas of what to advise you to buy on this Wednesday. Yes it's the first time in two years but I just felt like I couldn't offer anything.

Now I was quite chilled and ok about not writing a post and it didn't bother me, I could live with the fact that life gets a bit busy and we all have to have a bit of time out. I then felt guilty though and a bit uncertain after my sons remarks. He was right, why should I give up on this mega conquest of writing every day?

So here it is a blog post about writing a post of what to buy when I haven't bought anything....good eh? These are my feeling todays about a bit of a writers block I suppose. I was bound to have one at some point, I must have had one before and I will probably have one again. The thing is I'm only human and just like everyone else.....busy, but not too busy for a brew so I'm gonna boil that kettle and go and find something on Amazon to buy.

Thank you for reading today, I will be back tomorrow with my Verse for Thursday and I can guarantee that as I have written the poem, and it is already scheduled so I am now ahead of myself. Brilliant!!!

Take care now.

The perfect tools for any trade

20/3/2019

Now as I am a single gal living by myself, well part from two teenage boys I do feel the need to have some tools in the house. Well I may have to do some important DIY or I might just have to look as though I’m willing to do some DIY.

I have got a collection of screwdrivers even one of those electric screwdrivers which I have used and found a bit fun and other tool type things that I often Google just to see what they are. I say Google but it’s usually a quite text to Dad from the Brew to say ‘Dad what is this and what can I destroy or make things worse by using it?’ He will then tell me he needs a closer look and decides whatever it is he needs one for himself.

I then went to Aldi and clocked this little tool bag complete with some tools inside and get this... it’s pink and black.....pink for me a girly DIY’er, ok I suppose boys like pink too, lets not take over the pink thing in a sexist way Sue from the Brew. It gets even better though regarding the pink subject as the tools inside have pink handles. Oh I’m so much in builders heaven now I need to go and see if Nick Knowles and the gang need help on DIY SOS. I feel I may turn out to be the SOS though, Nick shaking his head saying ‘Sue Oh Sue’.

So this nifty little girly, yes girly tool bag is going into work with me as I have no tools there and someone is bound to ask if I have a pair of pliers or a hammer in pink. The day will come you’ll see. I love that it comes with a long strap so that I can carry it over my shoulder, so fashionable!! You all know what I’m like for a bag, it’s the first one I have bought in ages and you can’t say it won’t be useful.

I am waiting in anticipation until someone comes and asks for a screwdriver and I have to tell them to wait while I have a look, ‘oh yes I have but it’s pink.....is that ok?’ Pink tools will get the job done, who wants boring old basic tools with no colour....not me that’s for sure.

I purchased this tool bag from Aldi, on the middle aisle, yes I only went in for milk! It cost just £19.99 which I didn’t think was too bad for saying what you get for that and I feel safer that I can fix it just like Wendy....Bob the Builder's boss.

Thanks for reading today, please join me tomorrow for my Verse for Thursday but for now.....

Take care and .....can we fix it? Yes we bloomin well can (in pink).
