A Brew with Pooh.....

Cute isn't he? I went to see Pooh Bear in the new Disney film 'Christopher Robin. I had a brew and relaxed in the brand new recliner seats at our local Odeon. Ohhhhh they are fabulous......so comfortable I could have sat there all day, in fact I could have just waited for another movie to start.

I'm there with my feet up watching my film in 4K projection and super Dolby ATMOS sound, the Hundred Acre Wood has never looked so good. Tigger nearly bounded off the screen into my bag of minty Aero Bubbles but I fear he doesn't need anymore sugar, I certainly didn't. Very impressed with the seats, they are comfortable and there is loads of room, you don't have to worry about going to the loo if you're sat in the middle, nobody has to stand up to let you out.

The sound however is really loud, not sure whether it's me who's a bit sensitive to too much loud noise but it is sometimes a bit unbearable. I find it a bit weird to say that I don't like loud noise after all the concerts I've been to but maybe it's my age. This movie was not so bad for the sound but I think if it was a super action film I may struggle. Some of the trailers really hurt my ears but that's super duper Dolby sound for ya.

The film itself was adorable. I was a big fan of Winnie the Pooh as a little girl. My dad would read me a Pooh Bear story most nights and if I peered out of my bedroom the rest of the family would be sitting on the stairs listening to the story too, he was that good!!! Still is I must admit but not had a bedtime story from him for a while. I still have the books now, they are in my bedroom never to be removed and will never see a charity bag as long as I'm alive.

So to see Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, Owl, Eeyore, Rabbit, Kanga and Roo come alive on the big screen was a dream come true for me and they looked and sounded exactly as I wanted them to. I thought Ewan McGregor was a great match for a grown up Christopher Robin with his grumpy exterior but then that softy interior shines through and he becomes that playful lad again. to the delight of Pooh and his mates. I loved how he was passing his adventures and his memories down to his daughter Madeline just as I was sitting there watching this film with my mum and both my sons. I looked around the cinema and the little ones were shouting Pooh's name, really enjoying it and there it goes again passed down to another generation. Like Thomas the Tank Engine, Pooh Bear will go on forever.

Ewan McGregor has done well for himself, not only does he get to play childhood hero Obi Wan Kenobi in Star Wars but he gets to play another childhood idol in Christopher Robin. He is just becoming the symbol to my younger years apart from being a blooming nice guy.

A lovely brew out with family watching a nice family film.......just perfect. if you've seen it what did you think? Have you tried the new recliner seats out too? Do let me know.

For now though you take care but do come back tomorrow for What to Buy Wednesday......

Bye for now.

Afternoon Tea....Mission Accomplished

Never did I think I would be on a secret mission to have afternoon tea but I did accept the mission and got the job done. It was no job only sheer heaven and a pleasure to have taken part. I mean look at these photos of what was a very tasty tea.

There were sandwiches galore accompanied by scones, muffins, cakes and macarons. An abundance of tea and coffee were on offer and in full flow.....a continuous brew......a never ending teapot.

The food tasted beautiful with some nice flavours combined together, classic scones with cream and jam and also cakes infused with tea. I loved the teapots, teacups and plates as they were so quaint and classy, a real tea party look. There were even gluten free treats available so someone really knows about dietary requirements.....hurray!!!

So where was this piece of heaven? Well it's a secret......Rachael's Secret Tearoom is 'somewhere' in the picturesque Derbyshire countryside and Racheal welcomes you into her place. A few of us Rockies (Rock Choir members) all got together and had a great afternoon of eating, drinking, having a laugh and a natter. It's just perfect for a get together or maybe a little party for a special occasion.

We were so well looked after and kept topped up with tea which is very important. Rachael is now the goddess with a plethora of teapots so I may visit her again......if she lets me. If you would like some information on Rachael's Secret Tearoom go to www.rachaelssecrettearoom.co.uk there is also a Facebook page at www.facebook.com/RachaelsSecretTeaRoom/

Just take a look at what you could eat and drink......your mouth will be watering and then you'll just give in and you too will join the secret club.......go on take a look now!!!

Let me know if you've already visited Rachael's or has she catered for you special event? How did it go? Thank you to Rachael and my fellow Rockies for such a lovely afternoon, going here was such a fabulous idea.

Thank you to you too for reading today. Please do pop back tomorrow for What to Buy Wednesday but for now.......

Take care.

I'll make my own Lemon Iced Tea then....

Along time ago I fell in love......oh sounds like the start of a proper love story doesn't it? It is really as I did become very fond of the Lemon Iced Tea at Costa. Well guess what? They only stopped selling it!! How rude! They sell the peach flavour but I don't Peach I want Lemon.

This only meant one thing........I would just have to make my own. Now I knew they made it from tea (not rocket science), they added ice and a slice of lemon, then I just couldn't for the life of me think what was missing. I loved the fact it was quite sweet and tried sweetener and sugar but it just wasn't right. Then I remembered, it had lemon syrup in it so off I popped onto Amazon (of course) to look for some syrup.

Behold, as my son likes to say at the moment. There were many bottles of lemon syrup but I ordered this Sweetbird one as I've ordered this brand before in the coffee syrups. They are a bit pricey these big bottles of syrups but I do try to make them last. Famous last words......make it last? With the amount of tea I drink? Oh well wishful thinking or maybe I'm just trying to find my thrifty sensible head.

Now it was complete. I would just make a lemon tea, let it cool, add ice a slice and some lemon syrup.......perfect and what I save in Lemon Iced Tea at Costa I can buy more lemon syrup. Hurrah!!! It is also so refreshing in this warm weather, a great alternative if you don't fancy a warm brew.

Here is the link (affiliated) to the Sweetbird Lemon Syrup at Amazon.....

Thank you so much for reading today, please do come on back for What to Buy Wednesday tomorrow.......but for now take care.

When you need a real boost....

I like to drink tea for a bit of a boost, it makes me feel good. The first brew of the day right to the last just gives me relaxation that not even Paul McKenna could give me with his hypnotic powers.

So what if you could have your brew with with a real boost of vitamins to make you feel great? Well you can as Tetley have a fabulous range of super teas. No they don't come with a little cape around the teabags but they do have a good selection of vitamins to give you just what you need to get through the day.

There is tea for fatigue, the heart, a detox, for beauty, the immune system and sunshine in a cup to boost your vitamin D levels and many more. What a fantastic idea. Not only can we feel content when having a brew we can actually reap some health benefits, beats taking a tablet.

I have tried the Boost Super Everyday Tea with Vitamin B6 to help me with any tiredness or fatigue and it is quite good. It has a nice taste and gives you a nice boost. Some of the super teas are available in refreshing fruity flavours too, even exotic fruits for a healthy mind.

So if you fancy a boost head over to...........
www.tetley.co.uk/all-drinks/super-tea and take a look at their range. For some reason the everyday tea pictured here doesn't appear on this link but it is available in Morrisons so check out the details on their website here:
groceries.morrisons.com/webshop/product/Tetley-Super-Tea-Boost-20s/330156011

Let me know what you think if you have tried any of these teas. Have you got the boost you need or have they turned out a bit wishy washy? Can you tell any difference from a regular brew?

Do check out the ingredients on some of these teabags as for some reason they contain wheat. So if you are on a gluten free diet you may have to seek advice before brewing.

Thank you for reading today. Join me again tomorrow for What to Buy Wednesday but for now take care.
