After a few weeks off from Rock choir we needed a quick get together before the new term. We opted for a visit to this lovely tearoom in Findern Derbyshire called Mad Hatters.
Now I have written post before which you can read here...... a-tea-party-with-the-mad-hatter.html and it was so nice to return again. I had a gluten free panini with tomato, mozzarella and pesto plus salad which was so tasty. A brew of course and a natter at the hatter with great company. There is so much coming up within the Rock Choir world we had some organising to do and coaches to book for forthcoming events. You see we don't just turn up and sing, there is important events we take part in too so keep your eyes peeled for us, we are everywhere!!! For now though we were just sipping tea and having a chat. It was so good to see everyone. We do keep in touch via various social media places but there is nothing like getting together and having a good old laugh. If you do feel a bit 'out of sorts' and although you may not feel like being sociable, just go for it. It does wonders for your mental health and well being. It is good to talk and of course drink loads of tea. Mad Hatters is the perfect place to do it as well. Friendly staff and tasty food.....what more do you need? Thank you fro reading today, come back for more tomorrow for What to Buy Wednesday, but for now....... Keep calm, drink tea and take care of yourselves.

Yeah I know what your thinking......a brew with me would be with a mad hatter but no this is really a place called Mad Hatters. A lovely little tearoom in Findern, Derbyshire where I took it on myself and dragged my cousin along too for a spot of lunch.
I didn't visit this place when it was situated in Alvaston but apparently after a lot of public support it was saved and the owners moved Mad Hatters over to their new premises in Findern. It is nicely situated next to the canal where on a nice day you sit with a nice slice of cake and a brew and enjoy the fresh air. A popular place for walkers and cyclists passing by so the move seems to have been a great decision. It certainly has a nice comfy atmosphere and is decorated with a few pieces of Alice in Wonderland memorabilia including quite a few clocks so no chance of 'being late' for anything. I had a jacket potato with cheesy beans accompanied by salad and it was very very nice. The tea was so tasty and look at that teapot jug! How cool is that? I love that all the cups and saucers are mismatched, a lot of thought has gone into the decor and there is a nice cosy friendly atmosphere to the place. I really enjoyed it here and can see myself returning. I need to try cake.....what? I was so full from my lunch I couldn't fit any in but hey it gives me the excuse to go back. Nothing like a bit of a delay on dessert. If you would like some more information on Mad Hatters Tearoom they have a Facebook page here: www.facebook.com/madhatterstearoomderby/ Let me know what you think if you have been. I will be back tomorrow for What to Buy Wednesday but for now...... eat cake, drink a brew and take care. |
