Don't worry my lovely Yorkshire Tea I haven't left you forever but I decided to try a different Decaf bag. I saw the line 'The Tasty Decaf' and thought well I'll give that a go and I will be the one to tell you whether it's tasty.

My goodness I really didn't expect anything amazing but this tea really does taste lovely so PG Tips are right, it is a very tasty decaf indeed. They are pyramid bags which I have never worked out whether the shape of the teabag makes any difference but I just thought I would let you know in case you are a pyramid teabag fan.

I like a decaf as I have needed to cut down on caffeine quite a bit. It is mainly strong coffee that usually makes me feel a bit funny, I know there is less caffeine in tea but I like to keep the decaf in anyway. Some decaf teas are terrible, very weak and no body to it but this PG Tips is full bodied....I would say the equivalent to a ladies dress size 18, a good confident quality leaf which can be proud to call itself tea.

So why is PG Tips called PG and what does the PG stand for? Well my little brewsters I'm going to tell you. The company Brooke Bond launched a tea in the 1930's by the name of Pre-Gestee. This was marketed as a digestive tea. They believed you could drink tea prior to a meal as it helped with digestion (pre digestive tea - pre gestee....get it?). Regulations eventually came in later on which stopped tea being labelled as a digestive aid and the name was shortened to PG. The 'Tips' part came in to highlight the point that PG Tips contain just the tips and buds of the plant in the blend.

So there you go.....every day is a school day. Think of this blog as an educational place to be. - you're welcome!! Like I say I'm not totally ditching my Yorkshire Tea Decaf but I just fancied a change and I can recommend these teabags so give them a go too and see what you think.

Thank you for reading today......happy brewing and please come back tomorrow for What to Buy Wednesday.

Take care for now.
