Oh its all happening in the hospital drama Trust Me. I thought he was taking her away to do something dreadful to her because the 'doctor of lurv' had sussed her out. I'm forever shouting at the telly 'what you gonna do now?' Just give yourself up. She did in a way didn't she? Had no choice but to tell him and he wanted to help her, hurrah!!!. Love prevails and life can go on. He really must love her (awwww) to make that sacrifice, after all he loses his job as well if they are rumbled. I can't wait to find out how it all ends, which will be this coming Tuesday. 

I've caught sight this week of a couple of career type programmes. I love these as you don't have any idea what the process is to become an astronaut or a pilot. Astronauts: Do you have what it takes? Well this made me realise, no, in fact I don't think I have what it takes. Apart from not having a helicopter to try and hover I goofed out at the maths section. Crikey I can't even remember a phone number let alone repeat it back to anyone while doing step aerobics. That's what they have to do, this programme shows you the kind of demanding exercises these twelve candidates have to complete to get anywhere near to being an astronaut. Those who don't make the grade get knocked out. It's like Love Island, Big Brother, Bake off and Masterchef but Space stuff instead. They don't bitch on each other or cook so probably completely different but you get the idea. Worth a watch. (Sunday BBC2 9pm).

I also realised being a pilot is pretty tricky too, although I have had a flying lesson and really enjoyed it. It's the flying solo that I'd find the hardest I think, oh and flying hundreds of people about. That's more than my road trip to Scotland where I just drove five people up the length of the UK. A bit more responsibility taking a hen party, a whole load of stags and a family or two to the Costa Del Sol for a week. What I did love and found quite liberating was the amount of ladies that were flying. So good to see. This week featured an all female cockpit and they made it look so easy. I suppose they always have to put up with jokes about female drivers and the parking but hey us women can take it.. I hold my breath as the Easyjet cadets are set free from the flight simulation and have to complete the take off and landing procedure for real. There are some wobbly landings but no one has missed the runway yet. Easyjet: Inside the Cockpit is on Mondays ITV 9pm.

​Thursday nights also shed light on another career with the start of Ambulance. An eight part series following the work of the West Midlands Ambulance Service. You don't realise what the emergency services do and I touched on this before with the Fire Service. I didn't realise just how many ambulances there are and how they have to juggle the logistics around to make sure the public get vital help. It is an eye opener and really worth watching even if it's to make you realise what actually goes on behind the scenes. The reactions from the crews were heart felt especially with the death of an elderly man and then the joy of a baby born by one crew. I loved the lady at the end who just oozed with pride at delivering a baby, she made me smile. 

I'm not ready to be a chef yet but I am being a bit more experimental in the kitchen especially with Jamie Oliver's new series. This is brilliant as he only uses five ingredients, just five! I know how can you go wrong with five ingredients? I've even bought extra virgin olive oil!! This is quick easy food (as the title suggests) on your plate with no complicated fiddly bits. Boom, the best programme yet and haven't seen Jamie for a while so this was refreshing. Could never make me mind up whether I liked him but I do and love him for the simple fact that he's getting me cooking. I like him too for the fact he doesn't fart about, this is what you need and this is how you do it. Go watch it, it's great - Jamie's Quick and Easy Food (Monday's Ch4 8pm). The book to accompany the series is out now too, yes I've even bought a recipe book, well I had the Kindle edition which is priced at £9.99. A great week but I'm thinking that there is even more good stuff to come as  there are a lot of great drama and comedy coming back this Autumn so watch this space.

It's started! The battle of the cooking programmes this week with the start of the new BBC cooking series 'The Big Family Showdown' and also Celebrity Masterchef. I quite like the concept of the 'Showdown' and how it involves a family rather than one individual as sometimes cooking does involve the whole family. We do it don't we? We pass precious recipes down generations and the way granny used to cook was always the best with her special culinary secrets. I need to watch some more though of the series to make my mind up. I feel it's trying to work off the back of the loss of 'Bake off' and I'm still not sure. I love Zoe and Nadia presenting but not sure about Rosemary Shrager. Maybe it just needs time to settle in, we'll see.

I did love the start of Celebrity Masterchef, please do not read any further until you've caught up as I am going to mention results. I like the selection of celebrities taking part and enjoyed the first round which saw Stephen Henry, Julia Somerville, Angelica Bell, Henri Leconte and Jim Moir compete against each other for a place in the semi finals. I completely forgot comedian Jim Moir was Jim and not Vic Reeves who I always refer to him. I Just cannot get used to calling him Jim.

Tennis ace Henri annoyed me at first as he tended to faff a lot but then I would probably do the same if I took part, he has really made great progress getting straight through to the semi's which to be honest at the start I never thought he would. Julia Somerville also lacked a bit of confidence and seemed a bit weak, she cooked as if to say 'yeah that will do', very chilled but I think she needed a bit more 'oomph' to get through and unfortunately she didn't. So a good couple of contestants through and well deserved to Henri and tv presenter Angelica, I wanted Jim (Vic) to go through because I just liked him but not to be.

They amaze me by just looking at random ingredients and making something up in their heads to cook. I suppose that's the point of earning Masterchef status but I'd have to make an excuse to go out for some reason and google up a recipe. I am a nightmare cook though and not at all  very enthusiastic. I like quick stuff to shove in the oven so this programme does make me think that maybe I should experiment more and not to be afraid of the food. I'm looking forward to the next round of this, should be good. It will be interesting how it compares to the new look 'Bake off' when it starts soon. They are already planning to move the schedule of this one to Thursdays in the near future as it was due to clash with Bake off which is set to start on a Tuesday. Move over Showdown eh? 

I look forward to 'The Great British Bake Off' coming back as that was my favourite cooking show so I will be very interested to see what changes there are and whether it works. They start to bake on Tuesday 29th August on Channel 4 at 8pm. Channel 4, the first change, also new presenters Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding and Prue Leith joins Paul Hollywood as a judge. I never thought Paul would part ways with Mary Berry but I suppose things change and we should just welcome it. Good luck to all involved.

All these cooking shows just make me hungry and quite inferior in the kitchen. They do give you inspiration. Well I start off well and then want instant food back again. Ahhhh one day I may be a cook, dream, dream, dream. I don't think I could cope with a top chef standing there, watching and waiting for my soufflé to collapse, they would laugh and I'd be like 'I'm outta here'. I would make great tv with my cooking. I have no concept of timing or organisation and would cry if if a chef shouted at me in the big professional kitchens. That is a lot of pressure right there. Phewwwwww.

Wow I don't know if I managed to breathe very much during the first programme in the series of Trust Me. I was exhausted afterwards, how is she going to get out of that? I knew she would end up receiving a bit of resuscitation from that other Doctor, he's not gonna be pleased. when he finds out or maybe he'll feel sorry for her. It's good if you haven't seen it and this will be Jodie Whittaker's last drama before she gets the keys to the Tardis on Christmas Day. I think she is brilliant in this, it was just so gripping as you watch her deal with a bit of controversy in her nursing role leading to her being suspended. She then takes on someone else's identity and starts a job in Edinburgh as a Doctor in A&E. Everytime a patient came in I was constantly wondering how she was going to deal with them and whether someone would catch her out. I think she will get caught eventually after she sinks even deeper in trouble but I'm looking forward to the next one to see how it works out. Great acting and I'm glad people are getting to see a preview of her, yes maybe in a different role but you get an idea if you were not familiar with her work previously.

I also watched Diana: In Her Own Words which was an interesting but slightly sad one off documentary about Diana talking quite frankly about her life with her speech consultant. It's an honest account of her life and not only was it her who lost faith in the Royal establishment but the staff whom had worked around them too. I think she bloomed when she finally split from Charles and looked happier but I just wish she had been able to live and see a bit more of life. Maybe they should never have married, it did all happen very quickly but I think she was on this planet for a reason and anyway we would never have seen her gorgeous boys whom are an absolute credit to her. For me? I don't know if she was was ever allowed to enjoy her life, too many accounts of situations that are just not right. Funny now how Charles and Camilla have managed to now get married and make a life. I'm glad they are happy now, everyone should have their chance at happiness but so much hurt along the way and it's as if they had to get rid of certain obstacles first. She wasn't an obstacle to us the public, we just wanted her to be happy too but to some I feel she was an inconvenience. Yep strong thoughts but that's what definitely comes over in this programme. I can see why people didn't want it aired, maybe for the sake of her boys which is sad for them to see but it is worth a watch even if it's to have you own view. 

We said goodbye to Poldark for another series. It's been a good one, very dramatic but what is Demelza doing? Well I think I know what she was doing but I can feel a million ladies wondering why when she's got the ultimate of sex gods in Ross. Hugh Armitage just comes in and flashes his sultry eyes at her and she's rolling in the grass with him. He looks as if he could join One Direction that Hugh, he is boyband material isn't he? Oh Demelza, it will end in tears or lets hope it doesn't end in a 'mini hugh', there's enough of that going around. It will be interesting when it returns to see what havoc will be let loose over the lovely British countryside. 

I did watch some of the new Netflix series 'Atypical' about a teenager with Autism and because of the subject I will leave a review about this for my next Autism Support Saturday. I still have two more programmes to watch in the series and would like to review the whole lot so catch that next Saturday.

It's been a funny week on the telly box, I found myself thinking that there was nothing on for most of the time. I think we are at that time again when a lot of good stuff is finishing and we are ready for something new. The good news I learnt this week is that Dancing on Ice is coming back in the new year, woo hoo! (happy dance, slips over on bottom). No I'm no skater girl but I was gutted when they gave it got the chop a few years back. It's revamped with a new look and the line up looks good......

Phil and Holly are back presenting and it's not decided who the judges are yet but the panel may include Jane Torvill and Christopher Dean in a judging role rather that a coaching role. I can't see that but you have to remember they are both 59 years old so we'll see. 

The bad on tv is the amount of villainy about and the award definitely goes to Poldark. Woah! That randy Reverend Osbourne Whitworth who is so detached from the church as he is sinning badly with his behaviour to Morwenna. He gives me the creeps but then there is the sultry and sulky George Warleggan with his miserable plain expressions and his devious plans, oh I feel a pantomime 'boooooooo' coming on. They are both so bad aren't they? I know old George is a bit mad because he suspects he may not be the father of his baby and that his enemy, the well pruned Poldark may be the daddy, but crikey me he needs to get some yoga in or a mindfulness class. They need Jeremy Kyle with his DNA testing kit, can you imagine them all on that show? Poldark does feature some great acting though and we will see the apparently explosive finale coming up Sunday 6th August at 9pm BBC1.

The Ugly was contained in a programme called 'Is it safe to be gay and live in the UK?'. Why do these dreadful violent people prey on innocent folk who are just getting on with their lives and loving who they want to love. It infuriates me that there are some people on this planet who cannot get to grips with same sex relationships and that's ugly!!. The attacks on these beautiful people were just unbelievable and with one man losing his life, yes his life gone because someone didn't like him being with another man. I tell you what this world has to sort it's self out and some people need to take a hard look at themselves as to whether all that hate is really worth it. Love should shine through for whoever, as long as they are happy.

The great series 'In the Dark' came to a fantastic conclusion and surprised me again. Didn't see that at all (no spoilers). She did well running around with that huge massive bump which to me didn't always look that genuine. I know it's not real and she's not really pregnant in real life but there were times it just looked odd. All bumps are different though. Brilliant series, would love to see that back again. 

So I leave you to get on with another week, we can look forward to a brand new series called Trust Me coming up on Tuesday 9th August 9pm BBC1 featuring the new Time Lord Jodie Whittaker. A four part drama about a Sheffield nurse who loses her job and takes on her friends identity as a Doctor. Love the advert for this at the moment in which she says 'but I'm not a real doctor', oh yes you are, you are THE Doctor.
