I've just cried at the tv all week

I seem to be sponsored by Kleenex this week (other tissues are available). My goodness, everything I watched left me in an emotional mess. Now I don't normally watch something that I know will make me cry such as DIY SOS as I feel it's just punishment. I don't want to cry but sometimes you just have join in with everyone's moment and most of the time they are tears of joy. 

So I started with 'Diana, our Mother: Her Life and Legacy' on ITV which was just a lovely documentary featuring Prince William and Harry talking about their mum. They spoke of her with such love and happiness it just set me off straight away. She was such a beautiful person, yes a bit controversial and a rogue but blimey I loved that about her. She would have been so proud of those boys as they have never forgotten her, this programme was a heartfelt tribute from their prospective and it was good to get an idea of how they felt especially when she died. We all remember where we were when we lost this lady, it was a very sad time and so devastating for her sons. A must watch so it is worth a catch up if you haven't seen it.

I then thought it would be a good idea to watch 'Long Lost Family' on ITV. Now I kind of expected major tears at this as of the programmes nature but blimey I blubbed and blubbed. Here again like DIY SOS it is just immense feelings of joy at people being presented with a a solution to make life better or an answer to something that has been missing. Davina and Nicky are so good with these families, so sympathetic and gentle. It's them that set me off with the 'you can tell them as we've found your son' or 'You're daughter is waiting to meet you'. Arrrrrrrrrghhhhh my heart just beats an extra beat for them all. It must be so hard to have had to give children up for adoption years ago as there just wasn't the support as there is today. It is amazing to see these people reunited, having a second chance as you only get one so peace is being made, it's a sight to see. 

My next emotional moment was watching 'Inside the London Fire Brigade' also on ITV. This is a three part series in which the London firefighters were filmed over the past year but obviously this last year has included the worst fire in Britain since World War 2. This is the first time we have seen the firefighters talking about that fateful night at Grenfell Tower and the effect it had on them. You have not idea until you listen to their accounts, just what went on that night and how, even though a lot of people didn't get out they should still consider themselves to be heroes. What would we do without them? These programmes certainly make you think that we should never take these hard working individuals for granted and support them in every way we can.

Nashville has made me cry every week so far especially after recent tragic events (no spoilers in case you are binge watching). I get my tissues ready at 9pm on a Friday night as I just now I'm going to be balling by five past. Great show and I know I keep saying it but if you haven't seen it you need to as it's brilliant. Brilliantly filmed, brilliantly acted and apart from recent tears and tragedy it has been fun too. You can find it on Sky Living, I binge watched it through NOW TV and the Entertainment Package. You don't have to be a massive country music fan but the music is, yep BRILLIANT too.

Well that's it for this week, I'm hoping the coming week may have less tears but hey we'll see. It's good to have a cry now and again. I just need someone to donate tissues now though. It's costing me a fortune especially as someone in our house has had a cold as well.
