The Christmas adverts are upon us...

I quite like the fuss around the Christmas adverts, it kind of eases me gently into the festive season. It's so competitive though, who's is the best? The pressure must be enormous on the Christmas Advert team to produce the ultimate advert.

I've been watching most of them and yep I like Moz the Monster in the John Lewis advert, a lot of people don't but then I can't say I was a big Man in the Moon fan a couple of years ago so everyone's different. I love Paddington so M&S score points for this one even without the controversy around there being a swear word in it. I couldn't hear anything so I'm not sure if that was a bit of media hype.

Tesco's have also caused a bit of a fuss, or people are just getting their knickers in a twist. I think they are just saying that whoever you are, whichever culture, we can all meet up in Tesco and grab a Turkey regardless of religion. That's what I saw and I'm sticking to it. I'm not particularly religious and have no need to celebrate Christmas in theory but I do because I like to join in and share this peaceful period with friends and family. That's for me what it is all about. If I want to eat turkey I will, if I want to sing a Christmas Carol I will, if I desire peace and goodwill to all men I will and I will include good women in there too. I am spiritual but for me not in a religious way and I'm happy that Tesco's will have me regardless.

Kevin the Carrot has found love in the Aldi advert, he saves the day in what looks like a 'Murder On The Orient Express' type theme and then declares that he may have 'pee'd' himself. Too much information Kevin but it's funny anyway and I'm glad he has found love. Morrisons have a nice Free From advert which I thought was a nice touch but Asda went with another movie theme and followed a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory story, the only thing that was good was the Fleetwood Mac track to be honest.

Asda have a good little action packed ad that won't let them see any toys left behind and offer a quick super quick delivery. My favourite though was from Debenhams. The brief encounter of a couple meeting on a train and not making contact, will fate help them meet again? Narrated by the lovely Ewan McGregor who also appears in it at the end. Great one. Simple and romantic. Apart from me not being religious and also not very romantic either, I say well done to Debenhams for bringing out my slushy side.

Phew I think that's it for now, it's never Christmas until one advert comes along and I am not doing Christmas officially until I've seen the Coca Cola lorry.

Holidays are coming........

What's your favourite? Leave a comment below, I'd love to hear your views.

Take care for now everyone and come back tomorrow for Music Monday, go on you know you want to.....
