Oh it's getting a bit heated now in Gunpowder. tensions are rising now and it's all go for the blow up of Parliament. Wonder if they succeed? Oh of course we all know the end but I'm not going to spoil it as I have binge watched all three episodes. I know, I couldn't help it, I can never wait, patience isn't my thing. I will do a full review of that next week when we've all watched it. It is a great drama and you have to watch it till the end. All that history though did get me thinking about those times and I'm really glad that the BBC put on an additional programme called Elizabeth 1's Secret Agents. This started on Monday at 9pm and it opens up the Elizabethan era, how the network of spies and coding took it's form back then. This was I suppose the first experience of a secret service and it was intriguing to find out how they broke the codes, exposed people, convicting them of treason. This ended in a very violent death for those people which we see in Gunpowder if you are not hiding behind a cushion and can stick with the gore. I love these history documentaries and have come to realise that although we do know about some major historic moments we don't always know what led to them or what happened afterwards. If you like a bit of history then this is definitely for you. It is a three part series so I can recommend it. A new series of Piers Morgan's Life Stories started this week. I like this as it is the nearest thing to This Is Your Life which I loved when I was younger. It was so exciting to see who it was going to be and if they would fly that special person over from Australia to be there on the night. Would they fit everyone on the stage? Oh it was great, an insight into someones life which we only seem to do nowadays when they've died. Yes Piers is like marmite, again you either love him or hate him but I'm a little in between. He's like an annoying lover who gets on your nerves one minute but there's a part you love so you'll hang onto them. I like him when he does this series, I think he asks the right questions and doesn't dominate it so I'll stick with it. This week it was the turn of Kim Cattrall which I looked forward to knowing more about as I am a big Sex and the City fan. She was really lovely and you know I think she's right about another film, I think you can go too far with it when maybe it's best left where it is. I know her reasons were that she felt she was older and it was time to leave Samantha behind. So why don't they start the new film with her funeral? That's what I'd do, kill her off or get someone else in but for me I don't think that will work. I wonder if she would compromise on a quick death seen at the beginning? Oh get me - I'm no director but seems I've started a plot for Sex and the City 3. Lovely show and good for her for being positive but she didn't hold back on the truth about her co stars. It's never like it is in the movies you know. I like the fact you learn something new about someone with this programme and get to know the real person. They have been quite emotional to watch in the past as people do expose some sensitive parts of their lives. I think Piers handles those situations well so love him or hate him he does a good job here. I did watch The Good Doctor which was on Sky Living - Friday at 9pm but because it is based around a character with Autism I am going to watch another one and review that on the next Autism Support Saturday feature. It has got off to a great start and I do love the first episode but I'm always a bit cautious now of reviewing some programmes having only seen one, especially on this subject so have a catch up then see what you think. Well that's it for this week, we go into the Bake Off final next week and progress further with Strictly. I think Simon will go tonight but hey lets see. There is definitely a strong bunch pushing through but I want someone to win that wasn't a dancer before. I feel Alexandra, Mollie and Aston have all had quite a bit of dance experience so I've got my eye on Joe McFadden, think he's been my fav from the start. I do love Debbie McGee as well, I know she has had dance training but blimey I just want to as bendy as her when I get to her age which is only ten years away so better get cracking. I will see you again for Music Monday tomorrow if you fancy it. For now though....... Take care.
