The Cry cries off...

It was the last one of the series of The Cry tonight and wow what an ending. This first started as a drama about a couple who's baby went missing then the plot just thickened like a winter veggie soup eh? Blimey I couldn't have predicted this in a million years, so well written and acted too.

I, like many thought Joanna played by Jenna Coleman was actually in court for her baby Noah's disappearance or that she was being convicted for his murder but no it was in fact her husband Alistair's unfortunate death. She just bumped him off big style, she was a bit annoyed that he had put the blame on her for Noah's death when in fact he had been the culprit all along.

It was a great drama and if you haven't seen it try and catch up as it is one series that concluded completely differently to what I had expected. I love a good twist and turn and this had plenty of those.

Another great drama was There She Goes starring David Tennant and Jessica Hynes. I say great but in fact I mean blooming hard hitting and very emotional and I also say drama but this is in fact classed as a comedy drama would you believe. It is based on writer Shaun Pye's experiences with his daughter who was born with a chromosomal disorder. We see how the family try and cope or sometimes not cope with her condition. I think it is quite clever how it flicks from the early days of realising that something was different about Rosie to the present, comparing how life had moved on and seeing their every day struggles.

I think this rings bells with so many people and their own experiences with  their own lives. It's good that this is being shown to show the real strains of family life when someone has complex needs. It is on Tuesday evenings at 10pm BBC4 but available on the BBC iplayer if you need to catch up.

Doctor Who continues to be amazing for me, I am just loving the new series and the new Doctor. This weeks episode was a great history lesson as they travelled back to 1955 and met Rosa Parks who fights for her equality by battling racial segregation in Montgomery, Alabama. It's hard to believe that this ever took place and really not that long ago. The crew have to make sure that history stays on course after Krasko a time travelling villain wants to alter it. It was a tense one and really emotional but well done for the Doctor Who team for portraying this as it is one of those lessons we need to learn from history especially for our future generations as we still have a way to go to improve on discrimination.

A great week of TV and more to come this week. I was surprised that Seann and Katya made it through on Strictly. That sounds a bit wrong as I really like them and wanted them to stay especially after making such an improvement in their dance off. I think the judges probably saw that and decided to keep them, although apparently they made mistakes according to the great British critics. I just think they seemed to be looking like the couple to go soon, I hope not! Keeping going guys......can't wait to see what they have in store for the Halloween show.

So have a good week my telly watching lovelies and I will be back for more chit chat again on the next Pass the Remote but if you just cannot wait until then, join me for Music Monday tomorrow.

Bye for now.
