This is our family favourite at the moment, it's such a long week waiting for the next episode. My son and I were huge fans of Horrible Histories so when we heard this new series was going to involve the writers and actors from that we couldn't resist giving it a try.
My son watched the first episode and said 'you've got to watch it mum it's brilliant' and I have to say he's right. It's funny, silly and has that Horrible Histories feel with this lot as the cast. We love it. Young couple Alison and Mike inherit this big country manor and decide they are going to renovate it and turn it into a hotel. The ghosts who inhabit the manor already have different ideas and need to scare this couple away. Some of their techniques to appear spooky and scary need a lot of work and they fail to get through to them. That is until Alison has a fall, hits her head and then starts to see the ghosts. It's a shock for her at first as these ghosts are not conventional, run of the mill ghosts, they are from all sorts of different deaths. I like that in an interview and talking about creating this series they mentioned that when we think of ghosts we tend to think of them as medieval figures with floaty dresses etc and their aim with this project was to involve some modern ghosts and even go way way back and have a caveman ghost. When do you ever see a caveman ghost? Well I haven't seen any at all myself but I do quite like seeing these ghosts. You have to give it a watch and if you liked Horrible Histories and Yonderland then you're going to love it. It's a light entertaining show with a bit of a giggle. We are hooked and eagerly waiting for Monday evening 9.30pm on BBC1 when we can get another ghostly fix. That's my tip for the week, it did start on the 15th April so you may have to play catch up on the iplayer, go on it's worth it. I will be back tomorrow for Music Monday but for now you all take care.
