It's my favourite time of the year, the return of Cold Feet. It is like meeting up with old friends that you care about. I've watched this programme from the very beginning so I feel as though we've been through a lot. I always think what they will do next, have they not exhausted all the storylines they can do but no there is always more.
It's sad to see Adam all lonely and trying to chat up younger women, that's just not him at all.....the right one will come along eventually Adam. It doesn't help the the younger woman he was chatting up was his son's girlfriend, oops. They will get through it I'm sure, it's one of those situations where you think 'well yes that happened, later we will just laugh about it' but not just yet. I think he's hit mid life crisis and now he has to find himself. Can't wait for that. Oh poor Jenny was getting mixed up with her symptoms which first led her to think pregnancy then menopause but now it seems we are going to see her go through a cancer scare. This is going to be a toughy but she will get so much support. Please don't make me cry yet again Cold Feet people. I can't think how many times I have sobbed with this lot....better get tissues ready again just in case. You can see Cold Feet on Monday's ITV at 9pm. Vera made her return too last Sunday and she doesn't mess around. Well it did get quite messy finding a body in a land fill site, eww not good. I'm glad we don't have a smelly telly function yet although while watching Bake Off that could be good but then that may make me eat. I'm just not going to spend time inventing that yet. I still have to get used to the two hour thing with Vera, I love it but I find I do end up closing my eyes for a second, well probably more then having to catch up with the rest of it later. Sometimes I wish it was split into hour long epsisodes or maybe I have just got to get a big mug of caffeinated brew down me before it starts. Come on Sue from the Brew you can do it. Great storyline and brilliant acting again form this lot. You need to be watching this on Sunday's ITV at 9pm. Now I catch up with Call the Midwife at a later date as I'm busy solving crime with Vera, so I have to leave the baby delivering shift till a little later but what a great start to another series. This is another programme like Cold Feet that gives me a lovely warm feeling inside. It just makes your heart all warm and loving. Phew fancy realising you are having twins and then they say there is another one on it's way. I really felt that tiredness from that mum and held my breathe slightly, hoping everything would go ok and glad to say it did but they really had their hands full, quite literally there. Great to see it back again, another long serving drama but I couldn't imagine not seeing this, it makes the cold winter evenings much warmer with it's reflection at the end. Love it. Get your warm towels and hot water ready for Sunday evenings, BBC1 at 8pm. That's me done for this week, let me know what you are watching and what you enjoy. I'm going to catch up with the new series of The Grand Tour on Amazon so I will review that next week. Just one thing before I go the great series Delicious finished this week, I have spoke about it before but if you haven't seen it please go and catch up with it as it's brilliant. It stars Dawn French and Emilia Fox and was on Sky One, I watched it through NOW TV where the other two series are available to view but it really is one to watch - not to be missed. Thanks for reading today, join me again tomorrow for Music Monday but for now, share that remote nicely and take care.

It's getting to that time again in The Voice where the blind auditions are coming to an end soon and then the battles begin. The judges are getting closer to their limit of ten team members and it's beginning to show. They all start to get cautious and so they should as 'the one' they are looking for may be part of the last few to auditions. This makes it so hard on the people auditioning at this stage as earlier on in the show they may have got through but now, no chance.
Seems so unfair and I really feel for everyone auditioning in these late stages. There were a couple last night which I wanted to see go through and one which Jennifer put through and I thought 'what the heck' but hey she's the expert. I think it gets to Olly as he would just like to take everyone on, he makes me laugh but I think he's actually portraying what we are feeling here at home on our couches. It must be frustrating for the judges too. We said goodbye to Vera this week, not forever as she'll be back and I can't wait. A great series and my Sunday's will seem empty without her and Aidan sorting the odd murder out. I've just got to the point where I've trained myself to stay awake and stop nodding off now and also I've taken to guessing the murderer as well. I'm not very successful which is probably while Vera is in charge and I'm just a viewer. The last one of Kiri got everyone talking. I'm not giving anything away but it ended very bizarre. It has been a great drama and has included some fantastic acting but it just seemed as though everyone got fed up and just ended it when I think most people would have liked to have seen it go to a more neater ending. Oh well, maybe it's left it open for another series but in my opinion some of these dramas don't need to go on, sometimes I just want to watch a one of drama with a beginning, middle and end. I don't want to go through a million seasons of it, depends on the drama really. Anyway we'll see what happens. Silent Witness was quite a tough watch this week as it was based around behaviour within a residential home. This brought in a magnificent storyline including Clarissa in a more central role. It was emotional, very well acted and dealt with in a realistic but sensitive way too. Hats off to everyone involved. A hard to watch but great couple of episodes. Needs to be seen me thinks. Right well on to another week and now we've lost some programmes I'm sure we'll gain some new stuff so I will be back to chat about it all next Sunday. If you like your music though please join me tomorrow evening for Music Monday. For now though...... Take care. I've spent most of this weekend playing catch up. I think I've actually managed to burn my remote out with all TV I've watched. There is so much on at the moment and I know I've mentioned it before but I am hopeless at staying awake in the week. I have this switch that just shuts my eyelids at 9pm prompt. All the good dramas start at 9pm so I'm stuffed.
I don't mind at this time of the year as it's a bit cold and to be honest it's nice to get cosy and watch all my favourite tv shows. I'm still following McMafia which is great. Vera is fabulous and I actually managed to stick some matchsticks under my eyelids for that and watch it all the way through. Yay!! Silent Witness was fabulous and I got all teary when Jack gave Nikki a big hug this week, she had been waiting for that hadn't she? They needed to make their peace and move on. I'm also loving Clarissa's hubby Max who helped with the case this week, oh he's so geeky and adorable, a great couple and very cheeky - Max ya on loud speaker!! ha ha brilliant! I'm actually getting more into Girlfriends which is the new comedy drama from Kay Mellor. I didn't know whether it was great at the beginning but I do love it now. Class as always from Kay and a great cast, one to watch. I'm having a laugh with the guys from The Grand Tour, this just gets funnier and I kind of love that they can break the barriers on Amazon. They can be a bit cheeky, rude and throw in the odd swear word which is ok for them. I find James May the funniest when he swears because it's usually out of frustration with Jeremy Clarkson. They do a very amusing demonstration of a mobile fuel filling station which is definitely worth a watch and is in fact making me laugh now just thinking about it. I'm keeping up the memento with Dancing on Ice, well just about. I want to love it again but there is just something that is not as it used to be apart from the format being changed. I'm all for change but in all honesty there was nothing wrong with the original format. If it ain't broke - don't fix it. They seemed to think just because it was re launching that they had to make all these changes and I don't think they did. I get the feeling everyone just wanted the old show back. Maybe I'm wrong and I will get used to it but we'll see. I'm enjoying the tv at present and I'm really looking forward to the new series of Call the Midwife which starts tonight. Yes another to add to my list. What a dilemma though, a battle between BBC and ITV. Yep I'll be catching up again. Thanks for reading tonight, let me know what you are enjoying and feel free to comment about any of the shows I mention. Join me tomorrow for Music Monday but for now - take care. |
