It's my favourite time of the year, the return of Cold Feet. It is like meeting up with old friends that you care about. I've watched this programme from the very beginning so I feel as though we've been through a lot. I always think what they will do next, have they not exhausted all the storylines they can do but no there is always more.
It's sad to see Adam all lonely and trying to chat up younger women, that's just not him at all.....the right one will come along eventually Adam. It doesn't help the the younger woman he was chatting up was his son's girlfriend, oops. They will get through it I'm sure, it's one of those situations where you think 'well yes that happened, later we will just laugh about it' but not just yet. I think he's hit mid life crisis and now he has to find himself. Can't wait for that. Oh poor Jenny was getting mixed up with her symptoms which first led her to think pregnancy then menopause but now it seems we are going to see her go through a cancer scare. This is going to be a toughy but she will get so much support. Please don't make me cry yet again Cold Feet people. I can't think how many times I have sobbed with this lot....better get tissues ready again just in case. You can see Cold Feet on Monday's ITV at 9pm. Vera made her return too last Sunday and she doesn't mess around. Well it did get quite messy finding a body in a land fill site, eww not good. I'm glad we don't have a smelly telly function yet although while watching Bake Off that could be good but then that may make me eat. I'm just not going to spend time inventing that yet. I still have to get used to the two hour thing with Vera, I love it but I find I do end up closing my eyes for a second, well probably more then having to catch up with the rest of it later. Sometimes I wish it was split into hour long epsisodes or maybe I have just got to get a big mug of caffeinated brew down me before it starts. Come on Sue from the Brew you can do it. Great storyline and brilliant acting again form this lot. You need to be watching this on Sunday's ITV at 9pm. Now I catch up with Call the Midwife at a later date as I'm busy solving crime with Vera, so I have to leave the baby delivering shift till a little later but what a great start to another series. This is another programme like Cold Feet that gives me a lovely warm feeling inside. It just makes your heart all warm and loving. Phew fancy realising you are having twins and then they say there is another one on it's way. I really felt that tiredness from that mum and held my breathe slightly, hoping everything would go ok and glad to say it did but they really had their hands full, quite literally there. Great to see it back again, another long serving drama but I couldn't imagine not seeing this, it makes the cold winter evenings much warmer with it's reflection at the end. Love it. Get your warm towels and hot water ready for Sunday evenings, BBC1 at 8pm. That's me done for this week, let me know what you are watching and what you enjoy. I'm going to catch up with the new series of The Grand Tour on Amazon so I will review that next week. Just one thing before I go the great series Delicious finished this week, I have spoke about it before but if you haven't seen it please go and catch up with it as it's brilliant. It stars Dawn French and Emilia Fox and was on Sky One, I watched it through NOW TV where the other two series are available to view but it really is one to watch - not to be missed. Thanks for reading today, join me again tomorrow for Music Monday but for now, share that remote nicely and take care.

So did you get your bumper issue of your favourite TV magazine? Mmm a lot of repeated stuff but there were some gems in there which I watched. Thank goodness for catch up I say, I've kind of pigged out on chocolate and then nodded off in true Christmas comfort style. So I had to go and watch things again to catch up.
Did you watch Click and Collect? If not why not? This was funny and tense with a bit of an 'ahhh' moment. Andrew has to go on a mission to get the last Sparklehoof Unicorn Princess toy available. This is his daughters main toy that she has wished for from Santa and after a failed attempt to get it before he now has to travel up to Carlisle for it. Dev his annoying next door neighbour has reserved it for him and has to accompany him on this long journey on Christmas Eve. Of course they get into a few sticky situations and Dev turns out to be a blooming great bloke - We love you Dev!!! It stars Stephen Merchant and Asim Chaudhry and I thought it was just a nice entertaining comedy to kick of Christmas. You can catch up on the old iplayer so tune in to see whether the unicorn makes it under neath the tree in time. Call The Midwife gave us that Christmas Day warm feeling didn't it? If you don't come away with a massive feeling of love and compassion after watching Call The Midwife then you have no heart. You also have to have cried just a little bit, even just one little tear. It was a great episode some faces made a return some looked as though they were going but woah.. thank goodness they stayed. The cardigan got me crying......Barbara who we lost last time, well her cardy got passed on and that was a simple but moving moment. Every time I saw Barbara's name tag appear I blubbed. Yes babies were born, children were loved and cared for and it was just an hour of totally greatness. I watched the Torvill and Dean drama and quite enjoyed learning of their story. It followed the couple from the early days, how they started out skating and how they eventually became paired up to compete together. They stormed through all the major competitions which then led to the 1994 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo. The big performance of their life and this programme finished with that original footage of them performing their Bolero routine. It's amazing every time I watch it, I was just as excited watching it here as I was when it happened back in the day. What an amazing achievement and one which has never been repeated to this day. A nice little watch if your interested and I thought the actors told the story very well. I think the best thing on tv this Christmas though was Agatha Christie's ABC Murders. Some branded it boring but I thought it was brilliant. I love John Malkovich and thought he was perfect in this role, refreshing even. I was gripped with the whole thing and always knew that there would be a twist somewhere, well it is classic Christie. Rupert Grint was excellent as Crome the detective in charge of the case and there were so many more great names from the acting world too which just made this a spectacular drama. It was easily viewed as a three part drama, nice easy chunks which you could follow at ease. Overall a fabulous offering from the BBC, well done. If you didn't see it then go an catch up and let me know what you thought. Phew thats quite a bit of watching....I did also watch a comedy style programme on Sky One called The Queen and I. This was written by Sue Townsend (of Adrian Mole fame) and followed the Royal Family being deprived of their status and them having to go and live as normal citizens. Big names in this such as David Walliams, Samantha Bond, Julia Mckenzie and Johnny Vegas. It's a light watch and quite amusing, not to be taken too seriously but I found it funny. You are watching something where you have to think 'oh that would be really weird if it happened' some probably think it should happen. I'm not a great royalist but I didn't think I wanted this to happen in reality it just wouldn't seem right. Gets you thinking though. Well that's me done for now and this year in fact. I will be back in the New Year so I will take this opportunity to wish all you happy viewers and brewers and Happy New Year. In the meantime I will be back tomorrow for Music Monday so join me then. Take care for now. Well I must have had something big in my eye this week as I literally balled my eyes out last Sunday as poor Barbara left us in Call the Midwife. It was so sad, as at one point they seemed to give the impression she was going to be fine and everything was going to be ok. But no, there was no happy ever after as the nasty meningococcal septicaemia got to her in the end.
My son was treated for the same infection some years ago and I'm so glad they've moved on with treatment but to be honest sometimes there is no controlling this horrible infection, you do have to wait for the antibiotics to do their best and it becomes a waiting game as you saw here. I'm going to miss her as she was so lovely as they all are in this series. How will Tom cope? Well we will see more tonight as the series comes to an end, gone quick hasn't it? RIP Barbara. It was also the finale of Collateral this week and I don't know what it is about some dramas just lately but they start off really good but then they end abruptly as if someone go bored of writing anymore and finished it off quickly. I wasn't ready for this to end, it seemed as though it needed to go a little further but maybe it's just me. I did like it but a bit disappointing, kind of expected more from this. Strike finished as well and I love this, to be honest the storyline could be about anything and yes it had me gripped but I am a bit addicted to know whether Robin and Strike will ever get together. I was really thinking they might when she fell out with her boyfriend Matthew but no alas it was not to be. I am destined to be disappointed as she only went and married her fella, ohhhh and Cormoran was there, he made it to the church. Why didn't he shout 'noooooo it should be me', he wouldn't though would he? He's in that denial place and he wouldn't want to hurt her. Get your notebook and pen out JK Rowling as we need more of these. Plenty of finishers eh? We see the end of Dancing on Ice tonight and the finale will see Torvill and Dean take to the ice which frankly is going to be the best part of the series so far. I've had mixed feelings about this, one part of me is glad it's come back but not sure of the new format. I think Jake Quickenden has been consistent throughout this series and I think he will win it. I hope so, as he skates the best out of them all. Good luck to him and yes please bring it back again but bring it back like the old days. I've watched my last Shakespeare and Hathaway as well this week after ten episodes altogether. I raved about this last week and it was brilliant again this week. I did that thing where I'm binge watching and I take it really slowly watching the last couple of episodes as I didn't want it to end. Please make some more of these!!!! Oh a returner!! Yes Nashville was back on Friday night. The beginning of series six and for those of you who don't know this is the last one...boooooooo hoooooooo. Not sure how I'm going to cope as I love this programme. It kicked off really well but poor Juliette is still fighting her demons bless her, hope she does get through, it would be nice to see her happy and settled at the end Come on gal we are behind you, even if you are a bit of a baddy sometimes but then it would be boring without her being a meany sometimes. So there I will leave you this week. I'd like to wish all you mummy brewers a lovely Mother's Day here in the UK and I hope you have been made lots of tea or coffee or drank a bit of wine but most of all been spoilt rotten as you deserve it. Kick your feet up and relax, all of you that is and buckle down for another week of telly. I will catch you for more Pass the Remote next Sunday or if you can't wait till then join me tomorrow for Music Monday. Take care for now. Oh what did you think to the end of Hard Sun? I had to rewatch the ending again as I had watched it six weeks ago after the first one. The whole series was available to watch straight away on iplayer so I took advantage. I quite glad I had another watch as I was a bit muddled the first time after feeling that some things didn't get answered in the end for me.
For example what did Butler do exactly to give Hicks the excuse to kill him? We got a hint of him seeing something on a laptop in a reflection in that bedroom but what was it? So I need another series which some people say cannot happen as that's it, the end of the world happened a bit earlier than expected. Apparently though there's rumoured to be another five series planned, this could give me the answers I require. I loved it, I thought the sub plots were a good addition and I thought Renko played by Agyness Deyn was just brilliant. She kicked ass didn't she? Woah!! I kind of liked the love hate thing they had going on as it made it so unpredictable as to what was going to happen. Some have been disappointed but I want more, quick before the sun burns out. Silent Witness came to an end this week and the first part on Monday left me a bit bewildered. Why's that Sue from the Brew? Well I found it hard to believe Nikki would be running back into a house where there was gunman free and that the armed response unit would let her. It was all a bit far fetched for me. I was forever shouting at the telly, no wonder Nikki got herself buried underground in the last series she just won't do as she's told. maybe it would be boring if she did. The second part was better and I felt all warm and fluffy when her chap surprised her for Christmas......ahhhhhhh. I binge watched Next of Kin after my brother recommended it and so glad I did, blimey nearly missed out on this one. It was packed solid with tense, edge of your seat drama. Mona Harcourt becomes wrapped up in a tale of radicalisation and terroism after her brother is murdered whilst working overseas. It was a brilliant series and I was glued to it. I can recommend it if you haven't seen it. Well done to all involved a big hit from me. Call the Midwife made me cry last week, it was so hard to see those children taken away from their parents - my heart just broke as I think as a parent the first thing you do is put yourself in that situation and that's what got me in tears. I just couldn't imagine it. I'm so worried about Trixie. She's back on the booze and has also split with Christopher so we'll have to see what happens this week. Lets hope she gets some help because we love her don't we? Well we love them all, it's such a heart warming drama - I look forward to watching. Girlfriends ended this week and what an ending. Those girls just kept getting themselves deeper and deeper in trouble. I cringed with what they were planning next but hey did that leave this series with a possible hint for a second? I hope so as I need to know whether Micky survives the suitcase. I actually looked at one while out shopping today and gave it a shake just to see if he's ended up in the middle of Dunelm in some sort of twist to the plot. Along way from where he was left drifting away though eh? You never know with Kay Mellor. I really enjoyed this, it was funny, easy to watch and I think I needed something light to watch after all these intense dramas. I'm looking forward to the last of McMafia, well I'm not as I want it to carry on forever but not sure my nerves can take it. What an ending to the last episode. He's in trouble now. I do feel that all the action happens in the last five minutes but that's ok, I enjoy the build up and now come to expect that my jaw will lock into the OMG position. I'll come back and fully review this next week after the finale. Please don't let it be a disappointing ending!!! Phew.....that's it for this week so onto another. New dramas to come and the return of Shetland which I'm looking forward to. Be good and I'll catch you again tomorrow for Music Monday if you fancy it. For now though, take care. What are the BBC doing to me? This McMafia business nearly cost me the contents of my bowels and I think I may have actually stopped breathing at the end of the last programme. I think the whole country must have fell silent in anticipation of what was going to happen in the Alex vs Vadim showdown in the departure lounge. If you've not been watching it what you playing at? If you love good drama then this one is one you need to watch.
Now it takes a bit of watching and for some (like me) a little backtracking to understand what's going on but stick with it as it does become clear. It is one of those that you can't take your eyes of the screen or have a quick conversation and hope you can just pick it up, no! You have to glue yourself to the screen with no distractions. Just a warning, wear good underwear though and remember to breathe. What is happening to Dylan in Casualty? My heart just goes out to him as he seems to be plighted by an alcohol addiction. This will be a tough storyline, I love Dylan he's such a great character and I do love his honesty and the fact he's so straight forward, no messing with this man. I don't want to see him go through this but it looks as though he is going to get help. Phew. The midwives are back in Call the Midwife! Hurrah! This is such a great series and blimey it's a cold winter there. They have a new nurse starting and some heart wrenching stories. Although cold on screen this programmes does warm you heart. Great acting and looking forward to seeing more tonight. Is it me or are there lots of talent shows on at the moment? The Voice continues to be really good although watching it last night there seemed to be a shortage of men. All the contestants seem to be sixteen year old females, and even Tom said his team included four girls so far and only one male. Maybe it was just this week but come on guys, where are you? I did watch the new series All Together Now last night, now I wasn't going to as it looked complete rubbish but I actually got into it. It involves singers performing in front of one hundred music experts in a celebrity squares type fashion (if you are old enough to remember that). The experts then have to light their light and just boogie along with the song if they are impressed and basically it is the contestant who scores the highest score that goes through to the final. Comedian Rob Beckett presents this show along with some support from Geri Horner (Ginger Spice). It's ok, a bit of fun and they do have a good mix of singers so I may keep watching to see what happens. That's it for this week, tell me what you're watching and your likes and dislikes. This week sees the last of Vera and the finale of Kiri if you've been watching that so I will review those next week. For now though take care and come back tomorrow for Music Monday.
