What a series and a great final of I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here and congratulations to the King of the Jungle Harry Redknapp. I'm so glad he won, he has been such a great entertainer all the way through and he just got stuck in to all of his trials. A truly nice guy and so brave too. I really felt for him on his last bush tucker trial and wondered whether Holly or Dec would tell him there were rats in there with him. I'm sure he could see himself but he had such a fear of them I think they thought it best not to say it out loud.
They all did so well and all the celebs seem to gel really well, a good selection by ITV this year. It certainly kept me hooked, I watched every night and haven't done that with this particular programme for ages. It doesn't necessarily need drama and falling out to make good viewing, I think people enjoyed seeing a bit of harmony and less bitching here. I loved Emily and so glad she came in as runner up. A lot of people tending to criticise her for her screaming but I'd love to see someone of those people moaning about her try doing what she had to do without a screech or a squeal. So easy when your sitting on your sofa eh? As Emily said she may have screamed but she got the job done which I think was fair enough and good for her. I think the jungle would have been a very boring place without her, John and Fleur. They really brought the camp to light with their entertainment and they were the three that raised the morale in there. I laughed and cried especially when their close relatives joined them a couple of nights ago. Oh I was a blubbering mess, crying like a baby but that was so nice to see. I loved so many bits but tonight was funny when Emily had finished her final trial and off loaded the critters everywhere and Holly practically jumped on Dec's back to escape them, so funny. I think Holly has been a great addition this year. So well done ITV and to all the celebrities, yo can all get yourself outta there!! Doctor Who took it's bow on series eleven tonight also and what a great series it's been. We've welcomed a female Doctor and I think she's just become part of the furniture now, the big piece of furniture that I end up hiding behind if it's scary. There has been a good mix of stories and I've loved it. What I can't believe is that there will be no Doctor Who on Christmas Day, there will be one on News Years Day but we've always had the Doctor on Christmas Day....mmm not happy. I'm also not very happy that I have to wait until 2020 for series twelve. I think it's a gamble by the BBC, people may lose interest. I know it takes a lot of time to film and the actors schedules are booked up but there are so many dramas that seem to get their next series out a lot quicker. A year is fair enough but eighteen months? We'll probably still be here especially us true fans but can't speak for the others. Will it lose it's ratings? We'll have to see. Well I'm off to get some kip now after all this excitement. Not sure what I'm going to watch at 9pm every night now. I'm sure I'll find something and I'm sure I'll be telling you about it. Please do come back tomorrow for Music Monday but for now........... You're a Make a Brew Sue blog reader.......get yourself out of here!!!

Last week saw the start of the new drama Mrs Wilson. This is based on true events which follow the life of Alison Wilson who uncovers many secrets about her husband after his death. Wife's keep popping up all over the place and Alison feels she has got to get to the bottom of this mysterious life her husbands seems to have living, unknown to her.
Alison Wilson is played by her granddaughter Ruth Wilson whom you may recognise from dramas such as The Affair and Luther. I watched her being interviewed by Graham Norton where she discussed the awkwardness of watching this with her father. She said how she felt a little embarrassed that in the series she would actually being filming scenes where she would be giving birth to her own father so that's a slightly different thing to talk about around the dinner table eh? I think she's great though in this and who else could tell the tale, she is perfect for it especially with that inside knowledge of her own family. It has three parts and the second part airs this Tuesday on BBC1 at 9pm. You can catch up on the BBC iplayer. It is definitely worth a watch. Malique was the second celebrity to leave the jungle tonight after Noel Edmonds also got kicked off. I feel Noel was a loss really, I found him really entertaining so I was sorry to see him go. I don't really like seeing anyone go in this series as they are all really lovely and I think they have bonded well. Malique and Noel did well in their trials, really brave so they can be very proud of themselves. Who will be next? Poor John Barryman has had a fall and a trip to the hospital but I believe his is ok and due to return so that will be good. I wonder if he has a song for when he comes back in, might not feel up to it but I struggle to think that anything would keep that man down. I think Holly has really settled in to that presenters job, I'm actually loving her and Dec together, bit of a refreshing change. Maybe it will have to be Ant, Dec and Holly next year. I do like a laugh and this gives me quite a few every evening. Great series. Oh my blood was boiling a little at Strictly tonight. The public obviously want Ashley out and the judges are keeping her in. Anyone who comes up against her and Pasha in the dance off now will be going until it gets to a public vote. She is great but she is a professional dancer which the public are protesting about now. Not sure why they bother even having a dance off as it's going to be so predictable. The judges can't let them go because they are good dancers so it's a stale mate situation really and won't be solved until the final. The other thing with Strictly that drives me mad is the fact that they need a change of presenter. I never liked watching Strictly before and I think I've worked out why. Tess, for me is a bit over the top. I know she teamed well with Brucey and yes I think they did work well together but please BBC next series can we have a change? Right that' me needing a brew to calm down. I will be back for Music Monday tomorrow so until then you all take care. I was sure I wasn't going to that bothered about I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here this year but I'm loving it. I'm actually staying awake at 9pm as well to watch it which is not like me as that's my prime 'nodding off' time.
I think they have a brilliant mix of celebrities here and they all seem to be getting on as well. I have mentioned Anne Hegerty in my post yesterday on Autism Support Saturday but I'm also just loving the banter between Noel Edmonds and Harry Redknapp, they are so funny together and who would have thought that? I certainly didn't, they so need their own show. Harry is just entertaining anyway by himself with his stories, I could listen to him all day and I think he is bringing a lot of laughter to the rest of the camp. I really thought he would be a bit of a grump and not enter into it all but blimey he really has given it 100% so far. The bush tucker trial he did with Noel last night was awesome, I really thought he would bottle it but it stormed it. Proves how much I knew about him before. It was so funny how Noel and Harry kept making each other laugh last night as they tried to keep all those critters in their mouths, I was expecting to see a mega big beetle go flying across my screen as they got more and more hysterical. Good coping strategy though or maybe they are just silly all the time, hope so. I think, at the moment Harry could win this or John Barrowman is another favourite of mine but it could all change. I'm surprised by Emily Atack as well, she's really given it her all. I bow down to her for coping with those snakes.....what a brave girl. It's quite amusing following her mum, Kate Robbins on Twitter. She must be so worried about her but they seem tough cookie gals so I think Emily will do great.....love her. I really appreciate Kate's tweets on Twitter somedays as she is so funny and she lifts my spirits on those crappy days so thanks to you both for cheering me up. I'm going to keep watching as I am clearly obsessed, I wonder who will go first......oh don't want anyone to but we'll see. My prediction for tonights Strictly would be.......oh difficult but it could be Graeme Swann tonight although it wasn't looking good for Lauren Steadman either. I loved Lauren's performance though, I enjoy watching her and AJ as I think they are really well matched together. I'm still on Team Stacey as she's just brilliant and she's just got such a bubbly personality, the whole Strictly experience seems to means so much to her. Ok well we will see what happens and I am off now to get some tea then settle with my youngest son for a bit of Doctor Who time.....one of my favourite times of the week. I will be back tomorrow for Music Monday but for now you all take care. Well Series 4 in the bag at last. I've been waiting for this series of Line Of Duty to become available on Netflix, only because I just kept holding off from paying for it. I missed it when it was on tv and have been toying with the idea for ages of whether to just buy the box set on Amazon but no I held out and this weekend while flicking through for something to watch I clocked eyes on it.
I wasn't disappointed either, it was absolutely brilliant and think I may have stopped breathing for a few seconds at the end. That Thandie Newton, I thought she was such a lovely lass, I did actually feel sorry for her in the end. She was awful....she just kept dragging everyone down, getting lots of innocent people arrested, even her own husband!! Oh I was shouting at my ipad like mad. Bad bad woman!! Things always go against AC-12 don't they? I think, oh that's it there in trouble now but then no way they can't be.....no way, I'm not having it!!! I've gone through a massive mix of emotions during my binge watch, feel like I've been on a huge big rollercoaster trying to work it all out but phew, no I didn't expect some things here. If you have never seen Line Of Duty you need to as it's brilliant. I think it's one of the best thing on tv and apparently they are filming series 5 yaaaaaayyy!!!. It is available on Netflix so go now and watch it. If you have seen the latest series, did you love it as much as I did? Dark Heart came to a conclusion and it was fantastic, definitely left open for another series there me thinks. We need to be knowing all about Will's parents now eh? I also want to see Jules get well again and out of hospital. It has been a great series though and gripping cases for him to solve, please go and watch it if you haven't so that they will commission another series. So many loose ends I need tying up, that's not a bad thing it just has a nice cliffhanger for it to continue. Tom Riley gets his top off and he's very buff.....there ya go people.....ya welcome! I'm going to seek out the new celebs going into the jungle later on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here. There seems to be a good selection and I actually know most of them. I can't quite believe Harry Redknapp is going in so he might be worth a watch. Still watching Strictly? Yes I am too, getting a bit fed up of the contestants who are already pro dancers such as Ashley Roberts and Faye Tozer, of course they are going to get great scores, they have a mountain of experience, for me I don't think they should be there if they are professionals already. The public always seem to pick up on this and I don't see either of them winning because the others who have never danced before will take centre stage. My favs? I'm Team Stacey or Joe Sugg, I think they have made huge progress from the beginning. So who's leaving? I think it will be Kate Silverton or Graeme Swann this week. I'm hoping Charles Venn goes through as he did amazing and received a great score so please don't put him in the dance off!! Not sure he could take it again. We'll see anyway. Good luck everyone. I hope you've enjoyed your tv this week, let me know what you are watching. I'm off to watch Doctor Who as I'm obsessed.....woosh off to the Tardis. Join me again tomorrow as I will be back with Music Monday. Take care for now. What a great series of Strictly it has been this year. I take back all I have said about it in the past, I'll admit I've not been a big fan but I really got hooked this year. The contestants have been great and what a final, they all deserved a place and to lift that trophy.
I have to be honest though I have rooted for the Joe and Katya from the beginning and so I was so chuffed to see them win last night. There is just something about Joe, apart from his infectious smile, he just gave it his all, he came from being an inexperienced dancer to becoming a fully fledged professional. I'm not sure what experience he had before he started, I suppose a lot of the celebrities have had some dance training with their acting but it must vary from person to person, some having more experience than other. The level of choreography was outstanding and each contestant was pushed to their limits, yes even the Rev Richard Coles who I adored. I was gutted to see him go as I would have loved to see him dance to a Communards track. I voted for Joe numerous times and was choked to know I had reached my limit of votes online so I had to rely on my fellow TeamJoe's to help him win. I did shout out a big 'YES' when his name was announced so I've had a very satisfying experience of Strictly. Another show which came to an end last week was I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here. I was happy with Toff as the winner in this as well. I have never watched Made in Chelsea so I didn't know anything about her before and I really like her. She was a real tough cookie and never gave up on any of those trials so I have massive respect for her and them all, I couldn't eat kangaroo testicles. I did think Jennie McAlpine would be in the top three and even one of the front runners to win but no it seems not. Good series though, enjoyed it. Did you watch Bancroft? A four part consecutive series which ran all this week. Crikey it was brilliant and Sarah Parish just owned that role, she was so bad. I was glued to it and you had to be really as there were quite a few twists and turns. I kept flipping to and fro from what I thought was happening but never guessed that ending. Some are complaining that the ending wasn't very good and yes it did leave it a bit up in the air but is that because it's open to a second series? I think we may need to just be patient and wait and see. After all she surely can't be left to get away with it and poor Katherine Stevens is left in a coma so we need to have her waking up and telling everyone what happened. I would look forward to a second series as long as they don't leave it too long because I forget what happens otherwise. I will review the finale of The A word next week on Autism Support Saturday as it dominates that subject area and I have so much to say about it. It was a superb series so deserves a whole post dedicated to it. Onto another week and it will soon be Christmas telly week, I've got my TV guide ready and there is some good tv on it's way so I should be busy trying to watch it all. There was a saying that suggested you would have square eyes if you watched too much tv, well I've checked and mine still seem round though I do wear glasses but I don't think that's the tv's fault. Thanks for reading today, please come back tomorrow for Music Monday but for now...... Take care. Well if you've been watching I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here this week you'll know what strawberry gate was all about. Talk about stirring things up and frankly sometimes this show does need a bit of a shake up but my goodness I can't believe that actually happened.
If you didn't see it Amir Khan and Iain Lee were set a Dingo Dollar Challenge which was very funny and they managed to win the dingo dollars. They popped up to Keiths Kiosk and selected strawberries and cream to take back to the camp if the question which Keith asked was answered correctly. They all got the answer correct and back to the camp the two boys went.........until Amir Kahn suggested that they ate all the strawberries and cream between them and when they arrived back at camp they would just say that the question was answered incorrectly!. Oh I couldn't believe my eyes, I really thought they wouldn't do it, how could you leave everyone so hungry and be so selfish and greedy. They did though, they ate the whole lot. Did you shout nooooooooooooooo like me? I couldn't have done that as I wouldn't have been able to live with myself. They didn't either as after a while of being back at camp and discussing it between the two of them they couldn't keep it from the rest of the camp any longer. Iain confessed and get this......Amir laid the blame on Iain and said it was his idea, my goodness that man is so naughty. I would take a punch at him but my boxing skills are not very good.....no they really are not. There was mixed reaction, Dennis Wise was fuming saying that he didn't find it at all funny. The boys did agree to forfeit any more rewards and refused to eat dinner that night, they were well and truly confined to the naughty step and so they should be. It made great telly though and will be one of the highlights of this series I think. Apart from the jungle Love Lies and Records continues to be a great series which I'm really enjoying. Oh that Judy is so bad and she is still on the war path. Rebecca Front who plays Judy is such a fabulous actress though and I do love her but oh blimey she's ruffled enough feathers in that registry office now, surely she will get her just desserts. I'll be honest I want Kate and Rick to get together, he's so lovely and I think she would be better with him. I'm just loving it, classic Kay Mellor and another success I feel. It is on Thursday nights on BBC1 9pm but if you need to catch up it's on the iplayer. The A Word continues to be one of the best things on tv at the moment, I will leave my review till the end of the series but it's just a great mix of humour and drama. They have just got it so right and I couldn't rave about it enough. I'm a mum of someone with Autism and I honestly cannot find one thing wrong with it. Well done BBC. Right I'm off to get ready for the Strictly results, it's getting tougher now. I'm still cheering for Team Joe. been with him since the very start and he's my prediction to win or at least to reach the final. I've loved musical week though, it's just so fabulous darling!! A 10 from me. Who will go? Arrrrgh can't even choose now. It's going to get harder as the weeks go on. Not long till the countdown to the Christmas tv, how exciting.........if they don't put the Sound of Music on I'm going to throw my turkey at the telly. It's just not Christmas without it. Although I do have the dvd so I can watch it anytime I like. Take care of yourselves and wrap up warm.......come back tomorrow for Music Monday if you fancy it. Bye for now. I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here is back for another series with another group of, shall we say celebrities? It takes me a week to find out who everyone is. I'm forever asking who people are? I don't watch The Only Way is Essex so I'm stuck straight away as most reality tv shows now a days include someone from there. They all seem a good bunch now I've googled most of them. It's hit it's first controversy with Jack Maynard (he's a blogger ya know) getting turfed out and replaced by Iain Lee after only a few days.
I know who Ant and Dec are which is good and they are brilliant, very funny and to be honest they make this show, I really don't know if I'd watch it without them. I think Jennie McAlpine will win or Jamie Lomas, I like those two and they seem to have everything sussed. There ya go, I've decided on the winner now so we don't have to watch it now. We will though won't we as we like to watch people scared and being covered by bugs and snakes. We particularly like to see people eating kangaroo testicles which doesn't happen every day so enjoy this jungle fun as when it's finished it's Christmas. I couldn't do any of those bush tucker trials so they are so much braver than me although I may consider it on the money they get paid. They wouldn't even contemplate it surely if it wasn't for the great wads of cash they earn. Good for them. My favourite person on the programme is Kiosk Keith, he's the geezer who they take the dingo dollars to and then he has to ask a question for them to win a reward. He is so fierce when they get the wrong answer and he has to bring the shutters on the kiosk down. I bet he practices that all year just to get it right. There's no chatting up Keith is there? He's only got one expression, I wonder if his face aches from all that frowning, does he laugh? Please tell me there are out takes and he does have a giggle now and again. I just want to see Keith happy. I think they should give him more to do, crikey imagine if he became one of the campmates one year, that would be awesome. So here we go into another week and I quite like my jungle action every night, but there is more coming up apart from I'm a Celeb so I will be back this time next week to review the week of tv, for now though thank you for reading and you all take care now. I'm Sue from the Brew.......Get me outta here!!! Woo! Remember if you like your music pop back tomorrow night at 7pm for Music Monday. |
