A burst of yellow flowers today
a tribute to a life which has slipped away
This time of sadness and of loss
Memories remembered, a moment that once was

But these flowers they let the sun shine through
they symbolise friendship old and new
Pride and joy they also mean
a sight that feels so serene

A colour which was sent to make happy not sad
to try and make way through the grief which seems bad
Hope is what a yellow flower can bring
to allow the hurt to ease and let our hearts again sing

This week a Royal Wedding was had
and do you know it wasn't all that bad
We learnt lessons from the Bishop
although most wanted him to stop

I can't see why though as he talked a lot of sense
he was there to tell us about love not to cause any offence
The Brits were surprised at a preacher so big hearted
Someone tell them he was only just getting started

It was an extremely enjoyable day
everyone looked happy I do have to say
I know Mrs Beckham finds it hard to smile 
but she did get dressed up and walked about a mile

Celebs of stage and screen were there
it was so easy to sit and stare
Posh frocks and designer suits
the Military with their fabulous salutes

I loved it and celebrated with some bubbly
not enough though to make me wobbly
Us Brits can certainly put on a do
Big congratulations Meghan and Harry from Sue from the Brew

I always leave my tea to stew
it sits there like it doesn't know what to do
I bet if it could shout at me it would
to add a splash of milk and be drunk like it should

I bet it thinks I've gone and got lost
another wasted teabag in the bin to be tossed
She's just too busy to make this brew
so here I'm left all alone to stew

It's true I put the hot water in and then walk away
I come back later and you can guess what I say
I swear a little and then disappointment creeps in
I've committed the ultimate tea drinkers sin

So what do I do now just chuck it down the sink?
Hang on there let me have a think
I could put it in the microwave for a bit of a warm
but that's not really the norm

Tea should be paid attention to
not popping off doing jobs or visiting the loo
There's an art to a good tasty brew
something I obviously need to go and learn how to do

I could just set a timer for a three minute steep
then I'd think 'what's that flippin bleep?'
I'd turn it off and dismiss it's tone
and leave my tea there again...all alone

I've just got to hang around and wait for it to do
then after my tea I'll go to the loo
I'm going to be paused ready for the milk to go in
A nice hot brew, it's win! win! win!

Exams are looming in our house
revision going on we have to be as quiet as a mouse
It's the 'real ones', the ones that matter
quiet please....papers open....no time to chatter

Some kids are quaking in their shoes
some get on as if it's nothing new
It is a stressful time for them though
with careers and aspirations ready to grow

I think us adults make it worse
it's as if the roles are in reverse
It's not us that has to sit and be tested
us grown ups have been there now we can be rested

The pressure is piled on our kids far too much
a lot of them know what they're doing and feel in touch
Their bodies and brains just need our love 
to support them through whatever they're dreaming of

All is not lost if the grades don't come easy
there is always an answer, so don't feel at all queasy
It's just finding the right road that will suit
a bit like the sat nav when it decides to re route

We are all different and don't have the same plans
for some it's not important to take their exams
That's ok it's not a set up for a fall
some successful people never took any exams at all

So whatever you do just do your best
success is not always at the end of a test
Be positive that everything will work out just fine
no one can extinguish your light it's your time to shine!!!

It's nearly that time of year again
to gather in Lisbon, c'mon Portugal take the strain
To some it's an occasion that is pure delight 
but for others not necessarily their plight

It's glamour plus cheese
a dance routine hoping to please
Extravangance and scandal
too much for anyone to handle

Some say the results are down to politics
and the other countries are just playing tricks
Surely it's all about the song
or are we bitter because we haven't won it for so long

So the UK has SuRie and her wonderful tones
lets hope Europe will vote on their phones
Dress up, have a party enjoy the vision
for the nation will be waiting in anticipation 

Nil points is the score everyone dreads
A load of twelves for the winner then off to bed
Will it all go to plan?
Probably not and you'll know very well if you're a fan

Love it or hate it, it's all over the place
the milk maids from the other year you have to embrace
Graham Norton to commentate it's bound to be funny
The STORM may well pass and the outlook looks sunny
