My poem today was written on Boxing Day, it's kind of my little protest about having the 26th as another day of rest.
So here goes..... I think the sales should start tomorrow put off for another day to have a good furrow As humans I think we need one more day of rest to allow our bodies and minds to perform at their very best Shop staff may prefer another day of eating, drinking and in their pj's they could stay We could then get excited, get prepared to camp out nudge everyone out the way, careful not to give anyone a clout The queues they start early on the doors security people looking all burly It's like nightclubbing back in the day but instead of a cocktail you come out with something cheap on display Me? I prefer to stay at home I like to leave it longer before I go out for a roam Bread and milk from little Tesco for me then back to the warm, lock my door up again with my key So I'll leave it to you whatever you enjoy give a smile and thank the ones the shops do employ I hope you get the bargains you have your eyes upon but if you need me I'll be taking part in a Quality Street marathon 🛍🎁🛍 Thank you for reading today. Join me again tomorrow for Free From Friday... but for now..... Take care xxx

I've got a teapot I just can't use for a brew
I know this because I bought it today all sparkling new I thought I would have it for a Christmas pressie to myself but my mum insists on wrapping it, 'no don't you put that on your shelf' It's going to be wrapped and put from my boys which is lovely, so sweet, oh the joys But secretly I'm thinking it could be brewing my tea not waiting for Christmas in a day or three I'm not finding it easy to ignore my new pot I like to be using it as soon as it's got Never mind I have got another and it seems, a very insistent mother Ah it will be lovely to unwrap and act surprised I'm practising my face as I've been advised Just give me an Oscar, give it to me now let's get on with Christmas and drink all the tea my new pot will allow ☕️☕️☕️ Thank you for reading today. I will be back tomorrow for Free From Friday... but for now take care xxx Where's my Christmas mojo? It seems to have got lost
out with all the rubbish it may have got tossed I'm just not feeling it, does that mean Santa will not come? I think I've been a very good girl and an ok mum I've dressed up and even sung a song or two but that has still left me feeling a bit blue Oh Christmas, where for art thou? and why am I speaking all Shakespeare now? I've decorated my tree and had a chocolate or two I thought that would do it make me feel all brand new But no, still waiting to feel the urge and move along with the festive surge I think it all starts too soon the barbecue's only just packed away then the Coke lorry is belting out it's holiday tune I'm sure I will feel it, I don't want to be a grinch Come on Santa's elves send me some Christmas magic and give me a big pinch 🎄🎄🎄 Thank you for reading today. fate sometimes can be very strange You go along with your day to day life no worries or no trouble and strife But then comes along a life changing choice big thinking involved and a strong voice Will you or won't you take that chance or just stay in the same old circumstance Life gives us choices sometimes too good to be true but we should at least consider them, think them through Some say 'grab it, life is way too short' opportunities can be missed with too much thought We all like to be sensible and do the right thing the future can seem cloudy unsure of what it will bring One thing is for sure, if you don't try you'll not know and to me that would be a massive blow So get all the facts to help you decide get some views from those on the outside When you have done this you'll be so sure and add your new venture to life's colourful brochure ❋❋❋ Thank you for reading today.
