Why do we forget to take a look up above?
there's stuff up there you know me love
We don't realise the beauty that is up there
we just look at the floor where it's boring and bare

Well ok some stuff is interesting below
like fresh green grass or crisp white snow
But the sun shines high up in the sky
people in aeroplanes on their holidays they fly

While inside there may be cracks you've not seen
and dust on a shelf which has been missed by Mr Sheen
Cobwebs in the corner with spiders ready to fall
a leak from the ceiling - a plumber to call?

I love looking up there is so much to see
clouds are my favourite as well as stars that are set free
The moon tonight shone so bright
see, as well as the day it all happens at night 

So remember when you are looking low
there is one thing you ought to know
Great things are not just at eye level
look up ABOVE go on be a devil

Today the results were collected for GCSE's 
all that pressure and everyone to please
Some would fly through and feel ecstatic with what they got
some would be ok and just satisfied with their lot

The grade changed to a number from a letter
not sure it makes anything easier or any better
People asking 'well what does a nine bloomin mean?'
an A in our day that was something to be seen

However you scored you should be very proud
and if it didn't go your way still shout out really loud
There is always a plan or a solution for tomorrow
no need to be sad, listen to advice and then follow

Take em' again that's what I would say
pick yourself up tomorrow's another day
It's not the numbers and letters that define you
but your happiness THAT is what will see you through

Why does my brain wake up when I wanna sleep?
It just won't settle and count those sheep
1,2,3....no even the sheep have left in despair
There's only so many times they can jump over a fence to be fair

Overthinking is the worst thing I can do
my whole life suddenly comes into review
I half expect an episode of This Is Your Life
with the good bits taken out and just left with the strife

What's the point of worrying in the middle of the night?
Those worries dig in like an annoying parasite
It's not as if anything can be done at silly o'clock
it's sleep I need so let me restock

It's daft stuff that keeps me awake
from 'did I buy toilet rolls?' to an unpaid bill giving me a headache
I've actually shopped online in the early hours
or given up on sleep, gone to the market and bought some flowers

It is amazing what you can do to pass some time
until the brain relaxes again and all is fine
I'm not gonna get stressed or feel any sadder
Nothing is going to stop me sleeping tonight not even me bladder

What do you do if you find yourself somewhere you don't wanna be?
in a restaurant where the menu is hard to see
Do you run or stick it out?
To see what it's really all about

Well after a few dodgy looks amongst ourselves
we scarpered nearly bumping into the shelves
Ya see after a few hellos and people acknowledging us there
I thought staying there would have only been fair

But no my accomplices decided to bolt
don't worry poor eatery place it wasn't your fault
The place was very snug and we just changed our mind
not being rude or being unkind

I bet it was strange for the waiting staff
for one minute we were there then we were out of that gaff
The other customers looked slightly aghast 
you've either not had any nosh or eaten bloody fast

Apparently we didn't have to stay just to please any other
and that is advice coming from my mother
She knows what she wants when it comes to food and a brew
so off we went in search of somewhere new

You can tell it's summer the insects are out
human's falling over trying to give them a clout
We walk around with a stings and the odd bite
tropical infections we'll end up having to fight

The pharmacies, they've seen it all
how did you get bitten there Mr Brown from No. 24?
A tablet here and some cream over there
lots of insect repellent sprayed into the air

I know about this as it has happened to me
a bloody big bump I had for a week or maybe three
It was hot, itchy and made me feel low
at one point I thought I was growing an extra elbow

I applied every concoction that I found on the net
I visited the doctor so not to fret
He said 'take an antihistamine without any haste'
didn't like to tell him it calmed down after applying some toothpaste.
