It's go go go for 2019

A new year has begun
yes, Christmas is over, another one done
The tree and decorations have been packed away
I've taken down the Christmas cards which were once on display

The chocolate has been eaten the Pringles have all been popped
I fear for my scales as I get on a great weight will have been dropped
Back on the diet Slimming World will be pleased
as I am in need of some pressure from my hips to be released

For me the house does not seem empty or appear at all bare
I didn't really get into Christmas or give it a care
I do though like the thought of this band new year 
maybe it will bring a new lover or a dazzling career

The career I'm all up for but not fussed about love 
I'm looking out for oneself, giving romance a shove
I'll be busy loving family and friends in 2019
paying attention to new horizons, my fitness and getting lean

I'm not making resolutions, I'm not into all that
a few weeks in and I'll still be a little fat
But I'm happy within and that's all that there is
So be happy too and make your new year complete bliss
