It's coming up to that time of year
all that fuss and Christmas cheer When everyone on the planet goes to shop usually at the same time - oh it's all non stop We stock pile all the Christmas food if you need to go to Tesco's then you're totally screwed Anyone would think it was the end of the world packets of sprouts just waiting to be hurled People will flock to a Christmas market the ground so soggy for a car - you'll never park it Good though for a bargain or maybe more drinking mulled wine like never before I buy my pressies online it's a revolution and totally sublime No hassle or all that retail fuss save on petrol, parking and the bus All I've got to think about now is when to trim the tree I'll debate it over a cup of tea This weekend or next I don't suppose it will matter as long as the kids are with me to laugh and have a natter I'm excited for the advent calendar to start I'm not missing out on this crucial part A chocolate to be eaten everyday Someone needs a medal for that invention I say However you spend your time make it fun watch movies, sing carols, wrap pressies and you've won Send Seasons Greetings and have no fear that you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year Thanks for reading today, please come back tomorrow for Free From Friday Take care for now.

I bet you didn't know he had a name did you? Next time you bite his head off in Costa Coffee just bear in mind he has a name, probably a family and kids.........naaaaaaa he's only a biscuit Sue from the Brew.
So I wrote a poem about him....... He goes in your coffee to make it look cool tasty and snappy he's nobody's fool Bathing in lashings of aerosol cream Surely that hot milk will make him scream Through the steam he will appear a bit foggy and his bum will become increasingly soggy He is crunchy no more as the coffee finally reaches his jaw But who is it I hear you say? Is it possible to get to meet him today? The good news is it's a very big yes have you given in or do you still want to guess? It's Charlie the mini Gingerbread Man available at Costa if you're a very big fan A silky, milky, gingery mix get it larger for a true caffeine fix Charlie must feel that he's in a jacuzzi unfortunately though he's not for our Suzy She, is forced to give him the boot as the gluten inside him, I'm afraid it don't suit So what is the fate for this sweet little man? after he's pleased you all that he can It truly and honestly doesn't look bright eaten all up, goodnight Charlie goodnight! Aww bless him, don't that put you off drinking this latte, I've noticed that throughout his ordeal he never stops smiling so he must get satisfaction from knowing you are enjoying the treat. That's the way I'm looking at it anyway. Thank you for reading today, please come back tomorrow for Free From Friday. For now......... Take care. Chocolate has been my downfall this week
I think it's because the weather's been so bleak It's comfort food ya know makes my insides all a glow You can eat it all alone or eat it with a mate drink it really hot, early on or very late You can eat it for a meal or snack it on the go Hide from those at Slimming World though for syns you'll have to show I could tap and wrap a Chocolate Orange and eat Minstrels by the ton challenge a Curly Wurly, a chewathon is always fun Eat a Flake and watch it crumble only to end up in ya bra, rescuing it then looks like a fumble Chocolate it can make you feel so right it's not a thing that should be kept out of sight Don't worry about being a sinner have some for pud after that big healthy dinner I've never been to Cadbury World, maybe I should go I could go for a run after so the calories don't show Run??? That's a bit drastic, am I taking the mick? I'll churn up my chocolate and make myself sick However you like it don't ever feel bad it's there for our happiness not around to make us feel sad So eat it till you've totally sunk every little bit to the very last chunk Thank you for reading today come back tomorrow for Free From Friday Take care! I had my first anxiety attack a couple of years ago now and it involved me having a quick visit to A&E. I'm not kidding when I say it felt as if I was having a heart attack, I had no idea what anxiety felt like having not suffered before. Just lately I've had a lot for episodes and it's made me feel really awful. I don't feel as though I'm particular worried about anything, well nothing more than usual or stressed about a situation but it just comes on with no warning.
I have some tablets I can take on the onset of an attack and that usually sorts it for a while but I'm not one who likes to take medication. It was just the other day that someone asked me if I still did my walking, I would walk for an hour every day during the summer. Just recently I haven't been walking at all. It's not always easy this time of year because of the weather and dark nights but I made myself go again just for half an hour and it felt so good. All the tense feelings I had have over the past few days just disappeared. So I'm going to make an effort and try and keep up with it as the exercise is obviously helping. My Anxiety gave me my inspiration for my verse today....... Anxiety can be a real shocker unless your on the end of a beta blocker The medicine, it works for a while but I hate that it takes away my smile It appears for reasons unknown can make me feel I'm so alone My insides are gripped in the tightest vice the experience is really not very nice Frustration is apparent as I don't want this I want it to go and feel some release Approaching fifty, wait while I search for a cause It's obvious, I'm heading for the menopause With my sleep as fast as a wink and my reproductive system on the blink I'll get through this stage oh welcome I guess to middle age Now I may have found my solution early days or maybe an illusion Walking has made me feel at ease It's exercise I need for me to please It may work or it may not for now though it's all I've got Calm where once panic had bin' This is a battle I tend to win Thanks for reading, hope you liked it. Please join me tomorrow for Free from Friday. Take care. It's coming isn't it? Now the clocks have gone back we are starting to see it get dark earlier. The heating is on now, slippers are out, big duvets are on our beds, electric blankets and hot bottles. We've swapped sandals for boots and t-shirts have been replaced with jumpers and sweatshirts.
It's always good to see the seasons change, it's a sign we are still living so this approach to winter gave me the inspiration for my verse today.....enjoy. The cold dark nights are drawing in winter is about to begin The central heating fires up a nice hot brew in a huge big cup A casserole made for dinner chicken and veg always a winner Homemade soup is another classic meal a nice warm bowl for our hands to feel A frost soon to scrape from the car icy breath you can see from afar Boots and socks we now put on jumpers come out and t-shirts are gone Will we have snow? I'm sure Mother Nature will give it a go Just a light sprinkling if we may perfect and in time for Christmas Day Oh there you see I said that word some are not ready yet some want to be heard Yes Christmas is not far away Santa I'm sure will be servicing his sleigh The shops will be busy staff at Amazon will go dizzy It comes around so fast so enjoy it - make it last For soon there will be a new year another excuse for champagne or a beer One thing is for sure right now Winter is almost here and Autumn ready to take it's bow wrap up warm!! Thank you for passing by please come back tomorrow for Free from Friday Take care. |
