I've gone and bought a new garden fork
I would love to be serious and do that horticultural talk I'm trying to get excited about digging up weeds and planting lots of new garden seeds Still waiting for my gardening mo jo it will kick in when the grass needs to be cut so low I get distracted though ya see and gardening is no more I think I'd rather be doing some other unsightly chore There are those with fingers so green with gardens, the best I've ever seen I'm jealous of those folk who love it so much and pop along to gardening clubs just to keep in touch When I make a start I'll be absolutely fine unless my mate comes round mine with some wine One cannot be in charge of a mower when drunk I may end up with borders that are well and truly sunk I tried growing veg but that din't go well my greenhouse turned into a triffid growing hell I grew a few wonky spuds better than nowt I suppose that's quite good I''ll leave it to Titchmarsh he's a professional you know give him a spade he'll find something to grow Maybe I could invite him round mine for tea he'll run a mile when he realises it's me. 🌺🌺🌺 Thank you for reading today, come back tomorrow for Free from Friday until then.... Take care xx

We are never satisfied when the weather is hot or cold
I think we get fussier as we get old I can’t make my mind up with what I prefer I think we get stuck in a season before the big transfer Ya see I used to find winter miserable and sad I hated the dark nights and the weather being bad But something has made me love it once more I’ve realised I liked being wrapped up cosy and indoors Now I see that it’s sunny and hot What happens now, well guess what? I’ve now got to garden for which I’m not a fan The grass has bloomin grown in winter there is a ban Oh I know I shouldn’t moan or get really upset I should feel happy to see another season and have no regrets I’m thinking all plants and grass should be plastic Now that would be just bloody fantastic ❋❋❋ Thank you for joining me today, come back tomorrow for Free From Friday. Take care for now xx I'm knitting in blue
no reason and no baby that's new I'm just knitting in that shade so I can get to the end and look at what I've made I've knitted many scarves as they are easy to do If I can do this knitting thing then so can you You don't have to create anything posh simply knit with a basic stitch it won't cost you much dosh Next I think I may knit in pink apparently it's the colour to make the boys wink But that's not what's important at this time it's pink next before moving onto lime Yes I have a bag of wool that is overflowing I'd better get my needles ready, set and going It's a hobby that is very relaxing and not really that brain taxing They say it can lower the pressure of your blood and that can only be very good So come on and join me it's something to do You can knit any colour while I carry on in blue ✽✽✽ Thank you for reading today come back tomorrow for more.... on Free From Friday but for now take care x Why can't we have a male voice choir?
Have the women gone a little bit sour? I'm all for rubbing shoulders with the guys but give them a break, it's ok in my eyes So shall we invite men into the WI? I bet that wouldn't go down well - just you try Sometimes I think equality has gone too far let the men sing their manly repertoire They sing very low, too low for some gals and that's ok we can still be good pals There are other choirs where ladies can go our Rock Choir is mixed and around if you didn't know I've sang alongside the Derbyshire Constabulary Male Voice Choir they are brilliant, sound so rich, a change they don't require So leave them be, leave their name as it is For a good many years it has been like this Why do we feel the need to fix something that ain't broke? The laws of equality, good grief it's no joke But really is it that important to conform? Let it be Chief Constable and let them perform 🎵🎶🎵 Thank you for reading catch me again tomorrow for Free From Friday for now though.... Take care x |
