Laughter was very much in the air
people laughing everywhere
A little giggle now and again
and big laugh out loud's to please any comedienne

​ Jokes were told to please a crowd
the punchline's shouted out aloud
Hoping for a good reaction 
but it didn't matter as raising money was the attraction

Laughing is so good for the soul
it's so good for us all on a whole
 Even if there's nothing funny going on 
just have a random laugh your troubles will be gone

Good fun was had all round
apart from laughter we produced a good sound
As singing is what we do, well that's my belief
but last night was our Rock Choir sesh for Comic Relief

The world just seems to want to rush about
no patience it seems which makes people wanna shout
The roads are where it happens the most
verbal diarrhoea diagnosed and swear words overdosed

It makes people all stressed and shouty
raising their fists looking all louty
What's the point in this thing called road rage?
Can't we just say 'whoops' and cut to the next stage

Life just seems too short to be this cross
mistakes get made so who gives a toss
I wish we could chill, let it pass us by
It sometimes gets to me, I'll be honest and not lie

As I sit here writing this verse I can hear horns from the road
big lorries, so busy carrying their load
It's busy out there on the A38
does anyone really sit there, in a jam, all sedate

If in that situation there is nothing one can do
unless you start needing the loo
Now that is the time to definitely swear
my bladder will burst does anyone care?

That's when everyone needs to leave the road
get out of the way my bladder is about to explode
A sign appears, services this way
calm is restored, the rush is over everything will be okay

The next time you feel your blood is about to boil
think 'oh no this day it will spoil'
STOP take those breaths in nice and slow
instead of swear words, grit your teeth, wave or say 'hello'

Wow look at the weather in Feb
I have to keep checking the world wide web
Is it still winter or has spring sprung too soon?
I could get used to this sunny afternoon

You watch, it will be snowing next week
trust me to change the tone and make it bleak
But it just seems to good to be true
it's as if mother nature hasn't got a clue

Oh what the heck let's make the most of it now
and let us stop thinking of the need for a snow plough
I'm not having any negative talk
as I sit watching everyone in t-shirts having a walk

The nice weather also lightens our mood
and allows us to have a positive attitude
Come on sun you keep on shining
all the way to October and I promise to stop whining

The park was busy today
children giggling and wanting to play
Toys and balloons have been bought
frustration and a few battles have also been fought

Going for a drink and a piece of cake is always a solution
to me it's the perfect resolution
A little bit of a warm and a treat to make us happy
It's funny, even after a bit of chocolate I'm less snappy

The weather is chilly but the secret is to keep moving
lot's of walkers I've seen their fitness they are improving
makes me feel guilty I'm not doing the same
but it's busy you see in the floristry game

I am here for my customers all day long
I love hearing about their day, what's right and anything that is wrong
They can buy some flowers or stop to chat
I like it either way I'm so happy with that

And so we come to the end of the day
I like it here that much I don't mind if I stay
But I love the thought of the welcome back at base
at home with my boys there's no better place

This week I hurt my finger on a gate
I went to the hospital, had a bit of a wait
They took a photo of it inside
from every angle until they were satisfied

A fine little finger I had pictured there
apart from a small crack and a bit of a tear
So strapped together with it's mate it will be
down to three fingers, will I cope? Oh we'll see

Cope I have even being left handed
I don't think I'm going to be one handed and stranded
the pain is easing and it's all looking good
I may stay away from metal gates though and stick to ones made of wood

Brexit Brexit everywhere
I'm getting to the stage where I just don't care
Care I should as it's our future it will involve
but frankly right now I'd rather have some algebra to solve

If Brexit is on the telly I squint to try and understand more
no that's not any better and now my eyesight is poor
It's probably more of a turn up of the nose
well let's face it the whole thing is a puzzle, anything goes

Every problem is blamed on our leave
every negative yarn we have decided to weave
I dropped my rice pudding down me after my dinner
it's not Brexit's fault, that's just someone telling I need to be thinner

People discuss it like thy know what to do
so many 'would be' PM's they're forming a queue
Go on knock on Number 10 with your expert advice
Mrs May will make you a cuppa and serve cake by the slice

She would listen to the man on the bus with the passionate tone
talking very loudly on his mobile phone
We all have an opinion and that's perfectly fine
but for me I'm not sharing it on bus route number nine

It will have to be sorted as the deadline is soon
we have more chance of me popping off to the moon
That's it there's no Brexit up there
I'll sit within the craters with a telescope and watch you prepare!

They are building houses everywhere
no more countryside looking completely bare
Construction vehicles on small lanes
the view of small diggers to big tall cranes

The landscape is changing in a big way
'I remember when that was all fields' you'll hear someone say
They don't build any more schools and doctors surgeries though
leading to a huge impact on queues and the general flow

We will just have a concrete jungle busy with folk
cars will be plenty with their fumes to make us choke
The poor wildlife, where will they go?
Countryfile may end as there will be nothing to show

Too many people on this big old planet 
needing more homes or should we just ban it?
Fight to keep our green fields and fresh air
Are we bothered? Do we really care?

I do, I don't want to lose the belt of green
some of our scenery is the best ever seen
Let's stop now and rest for a while
leave a little greenery, a square foot, a yard or even a mile

Well blue Monday came and went 
the big day of discontent
The day when we are meant to feel down
stay inside, not getting out of that dressing gown

It's supposed to be the lull after the festive fun
back to the grindstone, so dull we're missing the sun
Our pockets are empty along time till we see our pay
oh darn it, pass the plastic let's book a cheap holiday

That will make us happy, thinking of the sun
suncream, a beach, hair tied up in a bun
We all need something to look forward to
and something positive just to see us through

This time will pass and we'll feel good again soon
go eat some chocolate or listen to your favourite tune
Short term, we hope, is this period of the blues
Yes Monday has gone, it's yesterday's news

So onwards and upwards, put a smile on that face
throw away those problems and face the future with grace
For the world needs a positive nation
then we can break free, conqueror all and deal with any situation

I feel for those who struggle to sleep
staying awake trying to count those sheep
Some go through for eight hours no trouble
all tucked up, so cosy and comfortable

It makes you so frustrated though doesn't it?
especially if you have a fellow human in your pit
Snoring away, a head full of dreams
without a care in the world it very much seems

You feel like kicking and saying 'what the hell'
your snoring is as loud as Big Ben's bell
For me though I'm all alone
the only think that wakes me is my mobile phone

I've usually just nodded off when 'ting' goes the alarm 
or be screaming out loud because I've slept on my arm
Five hours is probably the most I sleep
but there's no point in stressing' or allowing a weep

Its makes my day longer but I kinda like that
I have a lot to do, no bum on to be sat
So up and 'at em' seek breakfast, get fed
there's plenty of time for sleep, I'll sleep when I'm dead

Crikey the shock as I got on the scales
I seem to have absorbed everything Christmas entails
The food has engulfed my body as a whole
I now have a new resolution surely an achievable goal

I thought they would blow up to be absolutely fair
I got on so slowly, carefully, taking so much care
We all know if you jump on too fast
the numbers go higher our faces aghast 

I've tried standing on one leg and even having a poo
but the numbers they rise, my weight stuck on like glue
So I have got to eat less and exercise more
just at this moment though that seems a bit of a chore

I have to say goodbye to all the sugary treats
lattes and cakes with my friends on our meets
My coffee now is black and sugar free
I'm drinking so much water I'm always needing a wee

Ah it will be worth it when I'm a stone or two down
and not looking like a big bloated clown
My pants will be tight no more my friend
and the numbers on those scales will finally descend
