Well I must have had something big in my eye this week as I literally balled my eyes out last Sunday as poor Barbara left us in Call the Midwife. It was so sad, as at one point they seemed to give the impression she was going to be fine and everything was going to be ok. But no, there was no happy ever after as the nasty meningococcal septicaemia got to her in the end.
My son was treated for the same infection some years ago and I'm so glad they've moved on with treatment but to be honest sometimes there is no controlling this horrible infection, you do have to wait for the antibiotics to do their best and it becomes a waiting game as you saw here. I'm going to miss her as she was so lovely as they all are in this series. How will Tom cope? Well we will see more tonight as the series comes to an end, gone quick hasn't it? RIP Barbara. It was also the finale of Collateral this week and I don't know what it is about some dramas just lately but they start off really good but then they end abruptly as if someone go bored of writing anymore and finished it off quickly. I wasn't ready for this to end, it seemed as though it needed to go a little further but maybe it's just me. I did like it but a bit disappointing, kind of expected more from this. Strike finished as well and I love this, to be honest the storyline could be about anything and yes it had me gripped but I am a bit addicted to know whether Robin and Strike will ever get together. I was really thinking they might when she fell out with her boyfriend Matthew but no alas it was not to be. I am destined to be disappointed as she only went and married her fella, ohhhh and Cormoran was there, he made it to the church. Why didn't he shout 'noooooo it should be me', he wouldn't though would he? He's in that denial place and he wouldn't want to hurt her. Get your notebook and pen out JK Rowling as we need more of these. Plenty of finishers eh? We see the end of Dancing on Ice tonight and the finale will see Torvill and Dean take to the ice which frankly is going to be the best part of the series so far. I've had mixed feelings about this, one part of me is glad it's come back but not sure of the new format. I think Jake Quickenden has been consistent throughout this series and I think he will win it. I hope so, as he skates the best out of them all. Good luck to him and yes please bring it back again but bring it back like the old days. I've watched my last Shakespeare and Hathaway as well this week after ten episodes altogether. I raved about this last week and it was brilliant again this week. I did that thing where I'm binge watching and I take it really slowly watching the last couple of episodes as I didn't want it to end. Please make some more of these!!!! Oh a returner!! Yes Nashville was back on Friday night. The beginning of series six and for those of you who don't know this is the last one...boooooooo hoooooooo. Not sure how I'm going to cope as I love this programme. It kicked off really well but poor Juliette is still fighting her demons bless her, hope she does get through, it would be nice to see her happy and settled at the end Come on gal we are behind you, even if you are a bit of a baddy sometimes but then it would be boring without her being a meany sometimes. So there I will leave you this week. I'd like to wish all you mummy brewers a lovely Mother's Day here in the UK and I hope you have been made lots of tea or coffee or drank a bit of wine but most of all been spoilt rotten as you deserve it. Kick your feet up and relax, all of you that is and buckle down for another week of telly. I will catch you for more Pass the Remote next Sunday or if you can't wait till then join me tomorrow for Music Monday. Take care for now.
