Pass the Popcorn

This week we 'pass the popcorn' as I went to see two movies in the last week.

I went to see Kong: Skull Island, a great action packed movie but I couldn't help thinking that poor Kong was just going along his normal business and keeping the baddie creatures at bay, no problem. Then in drops 'man' and upsets the whole island, bombing everywhere and I am not surprised kong was upset and proceeded to squash all those pesky humans because frankly in his big hairy feet I would have done the same thing. It does turn into the ultimate battle of man vs nature. The nosey scientists  want  to discover the island and the mysteries upon it, drafting in the army to complicate things even more. The hot headed Samuel L Jackson is a bit miffed that Kong has killed his buddies but the group leader played by Tom Hiddleston becomes torn between siding with Samuel L or saving Kong, what does he do?

The more I see Tom Hiddleston in TV and Movie roles the more I keeping think Bond? maybe? not sure but I am becoming more convinced. There are some very cheesy scenes in this but overall it is a great film. Good effects and heart jumping moments so it is worth a watch.

I also went to see the new animation offering called Boss Baby. This is a nice family funny film. Great characters with voices from Tobey Maguire, Steve Buscemi, Lisa Kudrow and Jimmy Kimmel but the main voice from boss baby is Alec Baldwin. It follows the story of a 7 year old boy who is enjoying life with mum and dad and along comes a baby. Timothy Templeton feels a bit threatened and left out but then realises that Boss Baby is there really on a mission to find the secret to Puppy Co's new puppy which is believed to take over from babies and win the hearts of many mummy's and daddies. Timothy's parents both work for Puppy Co. so Boss baby needs to use them for information and get back to Baby Corp where he wants to take over the top job and put babies back where they belong.

It is good and very funny. Loved Boss Baby, they get the facial expressions so real in these films it's amazing. Good action packed excitement that kept it interesting. I do recommend it if you fancy a bit of a giggle and a light family trip out.

If you've seen any good films lately please let me know or tell me what you think of these films.

Thanks for reading and 'I'll be back' (see what I did there?) tomorrow for  Music Monday.

Take care for now.
