Oh heck the poor Queen has hit hard times. Yes Victoria returned for the start of a third series last Sunday and what a start. She's taken everyone in to the palace and then there's a revolution kicking off outside in the front garden.
The King of France, Louis Philippe turned up needing a bed after being turfed out of his country and then to add to that Victoria's half sister, Princess Feodora pops up out of nowhere and borrows all her frocks. The public are protesting for change as the start of the chartist movement becomes apparent. This came in very handy as I was studying the Chartist's in my recent essay for The Open University so I watched this with an added interest. All this happening to Victoria as well as being heavily pregnant with her sixth child. I moan some days that things are not going my way or about silly stuff that isn't worth complaining about but blimey I think I will think again after watching this. I was wondering how much she could take as the situation with the Chartist's really puts her and her family's life in danger. I felt quite exhausted watching it but glad for it's return. Jenna Coleman plays the monarch so well and we see the introduction of the cheeky Lord Palmerston played by Laurence Fox, wasn't he just brilliant? I don't think anyone else could have played that part as well as him. It was like pantomime, I wanted to boo at the telly and get saying 'oh you naughty naughty man'. There were dark times back then and you do get a good history lesson if you were not already familiar with the story of Queen Victoria so it's an education as well as watching brilliant drama. looking forward to seeing more tonight. A bit of a conflict tonight though as we see the return Line of Duty which I am so excited about but it will clash with Victoria at the same time of 9pm. I've decided my mum's day treat tonight is a glass of wine after a day's work and watch the team at AC-12 sort out the corrupted coppers, love it. So I may have to catch up with Victoria later on. Don't tell me what happens, no spoilers. I will probably end up catching up with both of them after snoozing on the sofa but we'll see. However you watch your telly and whatever you watch enjoy and I will be back tomorrow with Music Monday......but for now....... ....take care.
