Do you really need to press it?
Why do people use that thing?
it opens the door with a big long swing
Made for people with a disability, maybe in a wheelchair
not just for anyone to use without a care
I sat in a waiting room and everyone pressed it
it's like people just have to give it a hit
They lose the skill of opening a door
it's just too hard, a bit of a chore
Just because it says press to open it
doesn't mean you have to commit
Leave it for those people who really need to
need the time and access to get themselves through
It is useful if you have a pram or pushchair
or if one is elderly too to be fair
but for most people who are fit and stable
you can push a door as usual because you are able
It reminds me of a sketch in the tv show Father Ted
the one with the button that is red
Dougal is enticed with wanting to press
and the aeroplane he is on gets into a bit of a mess
So please please leave it to those who need it
just ignore the button, open the door and just sit
I'm over it now, outta here gone
but before I go I'm leaving this button and 'some people' in Room 101
Thank you reading today.

At our gp it actually has a sign asking everyone to use the button as the doors have just been redone and they're stiff
