Do you ever get those days when you can feel a sore throat coming on, your nose tingles and you think you're on the way to having a cold but then it doesn't turn into anything. It just lies dormant, teasing you into thinking you are going to be miserable, snotty and with an annoying tickly cough.
I just hate it when my immune system can't decide what to do. Are we letting this one in boys? Maybe not then and it decides to kick the colds ass. Today is National Poetry Day, the theme being freedom and so I give you my poem about my non existent cold, maybe it's delayed or it may be a post flu jab reaction. Freedom from a Cold Are you going to be a cold or what? And turn my nose into a mass of snot I'm feeling really achey and also a little shakey Cold, show yourself or kindly go away My throat it feels like sandpaper my perfume has turned into a menthol vapour Strepsils that stick to your fingers the lemony taste, oh how it lingers Am I having this cold or what? I'm stuck in mid fever not ill but not well either I can feel the suspense is it real or just pretence Be a cold or please go away Maybe I shouldn't really moan my nose has not got to be blown I'm carrying on as I should hang on that's really good I may not have a cold after all I was jabbed with a flu vaccination could be that, a little reaction They said a fever I could expect and probably feel a little effect That would make sense of it all I may be just good at being immune it will all go away very soon no cold to be had got away with it - not bad Atchoooo..... oh famous last words I hope you enjoyed that and I would just like to say whether you're a professional or novice a very happy National Poetry Day. Thanks for reading, pop back tomorrow for gluten free feeding My head I shall bow so you take care for now..... good night and a little later - sleep tight
