The Ultimate Rules

There's a list of rules we can't do without
they tell us what it's all about
Without it we feel completely lost
and the stress comes at a mighty cost

How do we know what we are about to digest?
it might be all crumbly and drop on me chest 
There may be nuts that we don't need
or a taste of coffee that takes the lead

Me? I like a strawberry cream
I recognise the wrapper so it's easy it would seem
I can tuck in straight away
while others flick through - come what may

I'm not a big fan of rules
but these are totally necessary tools
Designed lovingly for me and you
It has to be the box of chocolates menu

They regularly get called the rules, the menu or even the plan and I honestly believe if people had a choice between a sat nav or the chocolate plan, the plan would win every time. I would rather navigate my way around a box of Milk Tray than the local cul-de-sacs, I only end up swearing at the sat nav, never at a chocolate truffle.
